Stone Acres was the venue for our wedding, and it was absolutely extraordinary. 85th Day (affiliated with Stone Acres) did our catering, and we were very surprised by the quality of the food and drinks--in a positive direction. The food was every bit as good as our tasting and was exactly the same quality as the summer nights food at Stone Acres. We were super impressed because cooking food for that many people with fast turnaround times seems extremely difficult--but they pulled it off! That included incredibly sensitive dishes like scallops, which are temperamental and have to be cooked for a very exact time period--but they totally nailed the cook on the scallops for every guest. A number of folks told us it was the best food they'd had at a wedding. They went above and beyond at every turn--for example, we asked if they could serve a very specific hibiscus and gin cocktail that we made for friends from time to time, and they replicated it perfectly (even making homemade hibiscus syrup and edible flowers to add to the drinks). We cannot sing their...
Read moreWas really excited to stop into Stone Acre Farms and check out their farm stand. We grabbed a few items and a bouquet of flowers and headed to the check out. The girl behind the counter could barely squeak out that we needed to be CSA members to purchase the flowers. There’s not one sign stating that anywhere. We have quite a bit of merchandise on the counter and the girl and some random guy who seems to work there try to go into detail that we need to be a member to buy a certain bouquet of flowers and we would be able to tell by the color paper the flowers are wrapped in? Why would I know this information without a sign? No signage anywhere. Literally the most asanine thing i’ve ever dealt with. We left and did not buy anything. I’ve worked in hospitality for almost 10 years and my dad 20 and i have never refused a sale due to my mistake of not having a clear sign up about it. Dissapointing and not what i expected as my first visit! Will not...
Read moreSuper disappointed by the attitude of the hostess the night we came & the kitchen when accommodating allergies. My sister was entertaining a large group of 9 women & wanted me to feel comfortable about going to the prefix menu even though I have a dairy allergy, which their menus heavily rely on dairy as the main part of their menus. The hostess made a nasty comment saying she saw the “novel” that was written about the dairy allergy in the customer notes (the notes have been IGNORED 4 times I’ve gone before) I was served 2 slices of tomato on a plate in substitution of my 2nd course instead of the cheese tomato tartlet the rest of the guests were served. (I snapped a pic after I had already eaten the first piece. ) If you can’t accommodate allergies that can live up to your prefix menu then you should specify that. Also you should probably inform your hosts to watch their words when it comes to dealing with customers...
