I have nothing but good things to say about Stonington Pizza Palace. We’ve eaten there more than 500 times (average of about once a week for over 12 years) and we’ve never been disappointed. The owners & staff are very friendly, everything tastes great, and the food is of the absolute highest quality. They are very flexible and will substitute or customize just about anything on the menu for you. They started out as a very small pizza-salads-grinders-Italian restaurant. While they still have all that stuff on the menu, they’ve since doubled in size and have also slowly added a bunch of “fancy” dishes to the menu. The quality and flavor of all these dishes is so high that they could easily be offered at any of the area’s expensive, high-end restaurants for twice the price, and everyone would still be happy order them. Read moreA regular customer for many years past and many years to come! Found this little place when we first moved to town and haven't looked back. A favorite for lunch, usually once a week. I have never had anything bad here. My personal favorites are the Greek lemon chicken soup (especially on cold winter days) and believe it or not, the garlic bread. Grinders are always heaped with meat and the pizza is fantastic too. Pulled pork BBQ, cheeseburger platter and any pasta. I could keep going. Gets busy in the summer time with the tourists and part time residents but it shows you they have built a dedicated clientele. The new renovation has really done a great job for the owners, I would say it at least tripled the seating space of the old place, maybe even more. The old reviews that say it's small and cramped are a few years...
Read morePizza joint in Old fashion New England village... We passed by this place so many times, but this was our first time to stop in and had lunch there. The place was clean and airy, unlike other pizza place which were often dark and and full of greasy air. Service was great, we were seated promptly and our order was taken quickly. We shared a field green house salad and a large pastrami sandwich. The salad was simple, but quite nice, full of fresh wild green with some sprinkle of blue cheese, mandarin orange, and balsamic vinaigrette. Pastrami sandwich served with nice steak roll with some fried onion and tomato. Everything was simple with fresh ingredients. They did not try to "fancy" up the food, just let the good ingredients came through. We saw other had pizzas and lobster rolls. We would try those...
