Macondo is a local favorite, I have been coming here for over 7 years. They have a single offering of coffee in espresso and drip - Devocion Toro or their decaf. They sell a variety of Devocion beans as well. You won't find pour over or seasonal beans being served here, but the coffee is very consistent. The milk temperature in hot drinks is always on point. The pastries and bagels are very high quality, as well as their smoothies. The cafe itself has decent seating, and great decor featuring plants and local art. Order online to save time.

I love going to this coffee shop on the weekends. The interior just gives a very calm vibe and the coffee and pastries available are great. There's plenty of different types of seating if you're trying to do work (they have wifi), or sit down and catch up with friends in front of the fish tank. The staff are very nice to talk to and the service is at the perfect pace. Nothing bad to say about this place, can't wait to go again with some friends!

We stopped by this coffee shop during our trip to Mystic and we were not disappointed. I got a latte and it was very good. We both got bagels and were surprised how much we enjoy them. Being from NJ I have high standards for bagels and they did not disappoint. The pricing is reasonable. They have a large seating area so we ate in the cafe.

We’ve come back multiple times since it’s so close to home . First serval times the service was not satisfactory but we like to keep going local when possible . The staff/ owner is consistently very unwelcoming. Their responses to others I know was very gaslighting toned ( not genuinely concerned and placing blame on the customer ) if that many people say the same thing , it’s not everyone’s fault . We are always excited to get bagels and lattes . I’ve observed the staff making food with no gloves right after touching cash and trash cans . They are very rude on top of that . Unfortunately we won’t return anymore , the prices are too high anyway to continue to receive such poor service . There are plenty of local places to go .

Update to my review : Owners response below has proven my point . We did let you and staff know first on more than one occasion . These are also not “ accusations “ they are real experiences in your place of business . It is also a customers right to leave a review, especially after multiple poor experiences over the...

If you are looking for coffee that actually tastes like coffee, this is the spot to come to. Never burnt tasting and infinitely better than the super processed corporate coffee you find at most coffee chains.

One time a few weeks ago I was having a really, really bad morning and decided to go get a coffee to help turn things around. I grabbed my oat milk latte and as I was walking through the parking lot, I tripped and spilled my full, brand new, delicious latte everywhere. Full casualty. I walked back into Macondo with tears in my eyes and told them I would like to order another latte. I had my card out to pay when the very, very kind barista told me absolutely not- he would make it again no cost. It was everything to me in that moment....
