No lie...nothing short of amazing. I mean...yes..WEAR BEACH SHOES OR SNEAKERS! Unfortunately...due to alot of erosion the beach is almost covered in broken seashells...flip flops will NOT serve thier purpose at this time..but believe me when I say this place is nothing short of beautiful. There are Gazebos along the beach you can reserve for events as well as on site grills ..restrooms and a Restaurant at the beginning of the entrance...havent eaten there yet but will give it a try sometime.

You think that there's gonna be a million people there with you? Nope..it stays calm all the time.

Read that again...

Miles of beach...and no commotion whatsoever...Id pick August to swim Wont lie...water is pretty cold if you're into that sort of...

Not the best beach in the world, but you'll love it anyway!! Great view of the sound with plenty of beach space. There are picnic areas, play areas, baseball and soccer fields, basket ball (SINGLE RIM!!) and tennis courts available to use not to mention a par 3, 18 hole golf course. It slso features nesting grounds for 2 types of birds, the piping plover and the least tern, and also to the horseshoe crab!! Events are regularly held there during the summer, and food trucks make their way in and out on busy days. Plenty of parking, free for Stratford residents, and $20 for out of town residents, though you could always park in the golf course parking lot, and...

Very disappointed and frustrated

Very disappointed with this beach experience. They charged $40 for entry, but it wasn’t worth it at all. The restroom was out of service, and there were no showers available. There were staff at the entrance, but they didn’t provide any information about the lack of facilities not even a heads-up. The beach itself was poorly maintained, with trash scattered around and no visible effort to clean or manage the area. For such a high entry fee, you’d expect at least basic amenities and a clean environment. Would not recommend this place. Definitely not...

This is one of the best parks in the area. The beach itself is typical for this part of the state; not the greatest. My kids and I have been coming here since they were small. There are picnic facilities, an excellent playground and the entirety of the beach area has something to offer for everyone... nice long walk, tidal pools and salt marsh on one end and the general beach area on the other. Spring, Summer or Autumn, Short Beach is always a good time

Can’t go in the water due to bacteria but you wouldn’t know it since there is no signage or flags , and life guards all huddling on one chair instead of sitting at each post to stop people from swimming They are walking together & instead of going to where swimmers are .. they’re yelling across the beach ..
