The Good: The building staff, shuttle drivers and security guards were absolutely amazing! Really cannot say enough good things about them. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and fast. I especially cannot say enough good things about the shuttle driver, Ellen! She is such a bight, shining light! Not only was she friendly, timely and sweet but she was an absolute personal hero. My boyfriend did not feel well one day and decided to stay at the bnb. I left him my car in case he decided he wanted to join us later at the games. He ended up escalating for the worse. He was going to attempt to drive to me so I could take him to a hospital but upon getting on the shuttle and getting to the car, his condition worsened. Ellen called him an ambulance and stayed with him the entire time until the ambulance left to take him to the hospital. She even got my phone number from my boyfriend to give my updates and tell me where to go to meet him at Cannon Hospital (which was a great hospital with an amazing nurse, Bree). If any higher ups read this, GIVE ELLEN A RAISE! She's just awesome!
The Disappointing: Stayed at an Airbnb here with my boyfriend and parents. Our experience with our Airbnb host, Marinda, was pretty bad. She ended up being quite rude after asking us about how our stay was going and we informed her of some issues. My boyfriend and I got to the bnb late on a Wednesday night. After dropping bags we immediately went out for dinner then returned and went straight to bed as we were exhausted after a 12+ hour drive. My parents arrived later, at 3am, Thursday morning. They too dropped bags, ate some leftovers they picked up then went straight to bed as well. The next morning (Thursday) my boyfriend and I left around 8am to run errands and go rock climbing. We did return until about 3:30pm. We quickly cleaned up and changed and met my parents at the highland games. We returned late that night from a great time at the Highland games and once again went straight to bed. It wasn't until Friday morning that my parents, boyfriend and I actually spent some really time in the bnb and discussed things we liked and noticed needed work. My parents experienced most of the maintenance and cleaning issues, my father even almost lost his eye to faulty and loose handheld shower head. Marinda happened to message that morning asking how the stay was, my father was rather upset and really wanted to speak with her so I lent him my phone. He messaged her and informed her of all the things we liked and all the maintenance issues that needed attention. Her responses became rude and unprofessional. Definitely would not stay with her again or recommend...
Read moreThe staff are courteous and the facilities are fine. My problems are with their rather draconian rules and the very presence of this building on the mountain top. We stayed there recently through Airbnb--I did not research the place, just booked the condo through the website. Come to find out a few things later... I was coldly informed prior to arriving that it was a "family" facility and thus "certain websites" are blocked. Well, I can only assume they mean pornography. I do not personally plan on going on pornographic websites, if for no other reason than you're just asking for trojans/viruses, but the fact that any condo association will tell its members what they can and cannot do in their homes is a bit odd to me, particularly since the owners pay dues. There is apparently no food or beverages allowed in the pool /spa area. I say apparently because I was quickly informed that I needed to dispose of my (plastic cupped) beverage while I was sitting in the spa tub by myself late at night with no one around, but the next day a mom with two kids sat openly munching all kinds of food in front of everyone and received nary a word. So I suppose if I were a more "family" looking person with kids, that would not have happened? Insert eye roll here. Either way, I understand not allowing glass and I understand not allowing blatantly obvious alcohol, but not even a water bottle when you're in a hot tub? The local residents DESPISE this building, and it's easy to see why...everywhere you go in the area, all you can see is this giant, concrete pillar. It is monumentally ugly and ruins practically every major vista.
If you don't mind these things, by all means go for it. Unlike this association and building, I ain't here to judge, just to offer my opinion in case your feelings match mine. I'm not a party animal--just a normal working woman who'd like to actually relax...
Read more“I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but this resort was not worth the money we paid. We encountered several issues that put a damper on our stay. Our first issue involved the wifi connection. After the first day the wifi signal went out. When we called the owner of the room, instead of handling it they gave us the number and expected us to handle it. After speaking with the internet rep for almost an hour they stated there was nothing they could do for s since we were not the account holders. Our second issue was the rude security employees. They kicked us out of the pool 15 minutes early by flashing the lights at us before coming out personally to tell us to leave. There is a sign that states the pool closes at 11pm not 10:45pm. When we pointed the sign out to the security employees, they stated “we dont know why that sign is up there but the pool closes at 10:45.” Our third and worst issue was the parking. Apparently, (although this is not stated in the rental agreement) renters are allowed to park in the resort parking lot only on Sunday-Wednesday. On Thursday- Saturday all renters must park in designated parking lots away from the resort and call a shuttle to pick them up. ( The rental agreement only states that these parking lots would be used for overflow) When you have skii equipment ( that you are not allowed to bring in the resort mind you) and small children this is quite the inconvenience. As a plus, the security employees told us we could not park at the resort parking lot because it was full. Much to our surprise when we arrived to the resort via the shuttle it was 70% empty. When asked why the security employees told us a bold face lie they told us “ only owners can park at the resort.” We will not be staying here again and I encourage you to not spend...
