First of all, this country club, in general, gets five stars. We stayed in room 422, which is really a 3-4 star condo on this property. It's perfect if you're there to ski and have a comfortable place to crash to sleep and eat when you're taking a break. While it has an awesome view, straight down the slope, and beautiful views of the mountains in the background, the unit itself is super old. It's perfect if you don't expect too much from the amenities inside. The showers work. The beds are relatively comfortable. The living room furniture was perfect for naps. The dining room table was perfect for our group of 4. The refrigerator is all that we used in the kitchen and it worked great for storing drinks. It's a really comfortable, cozy layout. It's just super dated. It was like stepping back in time 30-40 or 50 years, except for the TVs. Some of the doors didn't close all the way. Handles were super loose on the doors as well and could easily be fixed. The toilet seats would not stay up, so the three men in our group had to hold the toilet seat from falling closed while going into the bathroom. The vanities were sooo low; it's almost like they were built for 3rd grade children. The heating was electric radiators. While they are super old, they worked VERY well. The owners of this condo obviously don't need to do any updates because I'm sure it gets booked up all winter just because of the location alone. It would be good if the doors closed all the way and the handles didn't feel like they were going to fall off. It's obviously a Cash Cow! Kudos to them! I really don't know how to describe my feelings about the place. It's kind of ridiculous to stay in a place so dilapidated that is part of a nice country club, but that might just be what makes it so charming. If the library books on the mantle, dating back to 1962, are any indication of it's age, then it's still almost the same condo that it was...
Read moreWe chose the condo/community for the proximity to the skiing which worked well, but aside from location we were otherwise disappointed in the condo unit itself. The condo was poorly cleaned for our arrival including having hair on the master pillow, balls of hair on the master carpet, and permanent stains that looked like dried blood on the master comforter. These issues were given to the management company upon arrival however we were just given an apology and the management company actually told us they DO NOT LAUNDER BEDDING/SHEETS BETWEEN EACH STAY!! This has to be some health code violation and especially in the Covid times we are living in, completely unacceptable!! We went out and bought our own cleaning supplies to feel better about staying there and put the comforter in the closet during our stay. The tv also came with no instruction on how to use (with 4 remotes sitting out) but a friendly sign saying that if you change any settings or cords to the tv you will be billed. I think this place needs a major update and thorough cleaning. Dust is built up on baseboards and vents in the bathroom, along with paint peeling on the walls. The shower pressure in the master bathroom is a trickle. We loved the area but would definitely find another place to stay...
Read moreWe stayed 5 nights here the week before Christmas. The mountain had blown snow so we were able to ski in and out since the rooms are located at the top of one of the slopes. Each room is different. Some are nicely updated. Some are outdated. I guess the fire Marshall deemed that no wood fireplaces were aloud there anymore so ours wasn't able to be used unfortunately. Gate code we were given didn't work amd we got stuck outside the gate one night. Our kitchen was very outdated and needed repairs. We stayed in 535. I would recommend Sugar Ski Country Club but not unit 535 until its updates. Friends of ours stayed in another unit that was freshly updated with and electric fireplace and granite counter tops and up to date appliances. We payed the same price as them. Staff was courteous. The pool and hot tub and sauna were very nice. Had an issue with the cleaning company and lying about not finding something we left of value but it was "found" and the staff mailed it to us. So ultimately, yes I would recommend this place, but not the unit. Would stay here again. I'm very honest in my reviews but don't let my review steer you somewhere else. They have plenty of pics on their website of the units. Find you a nice updated...
