Very nice time here. Husband fished. There are signs saying not to enter the water, however a large group of roughly 20+ kept getting in the water. There were cops driving around frequently, but they didn’t seem to actually do much about the posted rules. The group wasn’t bothering anyone else. Every group there had plenty of space. There were mostly lone fishermen there, but there was also a couple of families and a work out/yoga type group working out. The weather was nice. There was no litter to be seen both on the beach and in the parking area. There were large trash cans available to use in the parking lot, which is a great idea. My only real complaint is that the parking lot smelled of port-o-potties, however there were no restroom facilities available of any sort. Maybe there have been in the past..?? Who knows. All in all, I would definitely recommend coming here if you don’t need to get into the water. It’s perfect for surf fishing or a family day of sand castle making or even doing Pilates, I’ve learned today.

The park is located on the side of the highway on our way home when we travel to Charleston near Mt Pleasant. I love the view of the water and beach along with dolphins swimming in the channel . It's always a great way to relax and unwind . There's adequate free parking and a few benches nearby to enjoy the views or an entire stretch of beach to sit and enjoy nature. On today's visit, 4/30/25, I was shocked and disheartened to see the towering sand piles the no longer allow you to sit and enjoy the view of the water and dolphins. Literally all you could see was sand and more sand. Truly a sad day for a beautiful little park.

I can't explain what I just witnessed when I was at this mini park! One, it had amazing views of the ocean! Two, it's also a historic site to see what Charleston had to suffer during the Revolutionary War back in 1770. Three, it's also a good place for metal detecting! There are also exceptions that you cannot allow here in this park, you cannot swim due to the abnormally high number of sharks and jellyfish that are in the water, especially during the summer months! And also, if you swim and if the police catch you swimming in that area, pay up! It's a $1,040 ticket for that!

And this is actually a great place to come to in the offseason because you won't have that many people out there and it won't be so crowded. It's also a great place to go fishing just take your fishing pole and some live or frozen bait throw it out there and let it sit. This place is located between Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms and it's just a cool place to go the sand is very nice the current can be pretty bad through this area so please be careful and there is an undertow so you could get Pulled Under. So otherwise if you're passing through or if you're coming to visit...
