Bought a boat and trailer last year to the tune of 24 grand and I’ve had nothing but problems. Took the boat out twice and the bearings on the trailer snapped, which resulted in the wheels falling off in the front axle. Fortunately it happened in my driveway. Finally got the boat in the water this year only to have engine stall and shake when it started. The distributor cap was corroded and all the spark plugs were rusted. The boat was advertised as having a depth finder which did not work.I ended up having to pay for a Garmin depth finder. Tony wouldn’t pay for the $160 Garmin but he did install it for nothing… big deal. I asked him two weeks ago what inspections they did when they got trade-ins and he said they would go to the lake, start it up and drive it around. If it drove well that was their test. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just hooked it up to some muffs and ran a hose to test the motor.Today after telling him that my 10 year warranty expired by a few hours and with all the issues I had if you could help me out with some of the cost, I put into this boat which ended up being about two grand this year and a grand last year. Mind you that about three of those hours were from the boat idling or when it was being fixed or when it was limping back to the boat dock. I put a total of 12 hours on the boat the last two seasons and about nine of those hours were for recreation. I was told they have a checklist that they go through to make sure everything is running properly, which totally contradicted what he told me two weeks ago. Apparently checking the lower unit oil reservoir was not on their checklist because when I looked at it, after getting it out of storage this year, it was bone dry. Good thing I didn’t drive the boat much last year. I would’ve had to replace a whole new lower unit. I was also told that I’m not gonna find a boat dealer that goes through every little checkpoint, such as plugs, etc. I then sent him an attachment from the Internet, which said that dealers Inspect boats very thoroughly and if there are any issues such as spark plugs, wiring hoses whatever they fix those problems then add that cost to the sale price. Last but not least trying to get a phone call back in a timely manner or text never happened; maybe in two days. When I did get a response back, I was told that he was sorry because they’re just so busy. Too busy to take five minutes out of your day to call back your...
Read moreAs others have left reviews on lack of response after the sale. Is really frustrating when a business is only responsive when a sale/ profit is involved. I purchased a boat and ended up finding a few issues that I had reached out to them for. After my first trip I noticed a fender was digging into the tire and making a groove in it. They did respond telling me to take it to a trailer place down the road from them and tell them they sent me there. I did and reached out to Sun sport what the issue was and what needed to be done , and no response, cost me $350 . I had also noticed that the keel gaurd on one side was detached from the 2 way tape and was looking for some help. Crickets/ no response .Fix cost $450. They had sent me an extended warranty renewal for the main motor and reached out to them for more information seeing the motor had been running rough and wanted to continue the warranty. I got a response saying "I've been busy" . I responded it was important to get the information and never heard back from them. I blame myself for not taking the boat in and having it looked over and realize used boats may have some issues but what Im warning those as others have also is you any issues , they most likely won't respond or help you out once the sale is done and money is in...
