Sullivan Saloon — Restaurant in Sullivan

I went to Sullivan Saloon last night . The special on Mondays is there Mexican food. I ordered a taco salad and wanted the rice and beans on the side. This was at 7:00 in the evening, and again... this is there Mexican night according to their menu. I was disappointed that they didn't have enough refried beans or rice to handle the evening. The owner told me that they had to throw out the rice and beans due to lack of orders. So I had just the taco salad, which was fine, but it would have been much better with the beans and rice. About a month ago I went there and the owner recommended there Cajon baked cod, but when I got it I was very disappointed that it lacked any flavoring at all and the fish was very dry. I ended up ordering a regular fish fry instead which was fine... but nothing to write home about. I'm hoping that the new owners will up their game, and do as well of a job as the previous owners (Bob and Edie) did. I miss the quality of food that they did such a good job of offering. This was one of my childhood favorite restaurants when we lived in Sullivan. I recently went back with my fiancé who I told about how awesome their burgers are in the fall. And we went back on Friday. The burgers still kinda tasted the same! They are juicy and a great size for your money. And the staff are super friendly and helpful. It was a busy Friday night. We weren't sure if we had to seat ourselves or they did. They greeted us really friendly and quickly! And they told us where there was an opening for a table. Even though they were busy they still were super friendly and took that little time to talk with you. We've only had their burgers the two times we were there. And we're looking forward to trying out other foods on their menu. I can't wait to go back. Cheers everyone...

Our third time @Sullivan Saloon and the food was good once again. However, the other 2 times we had dinner there the servers we accommodating and quite pleasant, this time was an entirely different experience. Our server Greg, was lacking in the pleasantries and flat rude not only to us, but to other staff members as well, telling my 18 year old grandson that there was only one refill on his diet Pepsi so he should slow down on it. On one prior visit we got a hambuger served as a lettuce wrap instead of on a bun, due to dietary restriction. Greg informed us "no they don't do that". Also they replaced potatoes with cottage cheese on a prior visit, it's on the salad bar, but again we were told no. Next time we go there if he is the server we will be eating at McDonald's. Not fans...
