Think about the classic wooden playgrounds of the 90s mixed with a dash of an old 80s playground relic. That’s what this park is. We stopped after leaving the state park and needed a place for the kids to run off energy before another long driving stint. It was hot AF but that’s Texas for you. Between the maze of passageways, the red caboose and the metal contraption that looked like it was ordered from a factory playground catalog the same year the Challenger exploded, this park has it all. Why did I take off one star, do you ask? Because several boards have been replaced over time and you can tell that the screws used were not chosen with care, so there are several newer board with sharp screw points just poking out waiting to cut a child who leans over too hard. Read moreThis is the second time that I’ve been to this park and it never ceases to amaze! One of the few wooden parks left, it fill children and adults alike with a sense of awe and wonder. My youngest son is 3 and, even though he was too small for some of the aspects of the park, he still had an absolute blast! I would highly recommend this park to anyone that has children and/or anyone that watches children. Read moreGreat place, always has been, and its been a blessing to see it remodeled some odd years ago. It is well used and it brings this town together. Its within ear shot of the skate-park, and even kids kingdom. Theres a minature park a few feet away from the concession stand as well. Wish there was a little more shade so I wouldn't have to squint my eyes when I watch a game, but thats only at a certain time in the day when the sun is over the pond of the high school.
