Cloud9 Nail Spa — Attraction in Sycamore Township

Okay, so I don't write reviews often, but my mom and I had a very off-putting experience here. We got our nails dipped. About fifteen minutes into the manicure, there was extremely loud construction noises. They were doing some sort of work on the other side of the salon. What seemed to be the owner lightheartedly apologized and walked away. These noises lasted the entire manicure and were so loud you couldn't even hear the nail tech talking to you. Very irritating, considering when you go to get your nails done you're looking for a relaxing and pampering experience. If it had begun at the beginning of the mani, we would've left and gone somewhere else. At the end, my nail tech checked us out and I explained how unpleasurable the experience was and I wanted to talk to the owner about a discount. She told me the owner had left. (I had just seen her five mins before) I told her I'm sure she could call her. We went back and forth a bit, and the techs were laughing about the situation... I'm not sure if that was due to being nervous, but it was extremely unprofessional. I am a regular person and always extremely nice to people in the service industry, as I have worked in it myself. But, I know what's not okay... and this wasn't okay. This was during their regular business hours... I'm not sure why they wouldn't have turned my mom and I away, or had the workers wait forty-five mins until we were done. I hardly ever get my nails done, same with mom, and this was a special occasion for us. Luckily my nail tech did a good job on my nails; my mom's were not great. We tipped the techs generously as the environmental issues weren't their fault. But I'll NEVER be back and I'll make sure to tell my friends to stay away. Very...

Wow, what a fantastic place to get a pedi!! My adult daughter and I went for the first time a few weeks ago and it was amazing. The people working there were friendly and made us feel comfortable and right at home. It is this type of kindness and professionalism that makes such a difference to me in deciding where I want to take my business.

The prices are reasonable and next time I'm definitely going to get the full treatment. They don't try to upsell you so be sure to ask what add-ons they have available. It has been nearly 3 weeks since we went and my toes look just as good as the day I got the pedicure, not a chip or anything. That is saying a lot because I wear flip flops and work outside in my garden all the time. I know some salons dilute the polish but this one does not do that. I can't wait to go back because it was well worth the money. I'm over 50 and have been to quite a few nail salons over the years. This one is probably the best one I've been to.

I give this place 5 stars because they are truly the best place in the DeKalb/Sycamore area. They are professional, kind, hard working and fast to please their clients. They do amazing work with great prices. Also they have the best lemonade (just a perk)!! But what I personally enjoy, call me weird for noticing, is that the employees have great nails and they are actually painted. Which I notice everywhere else their nails are unkept.. which never made sense to me because that's a major product they are selling. Bottom line, GET YOUR NAILS DONE HERE!!...
