False advertising on products. I saw the package of 12 quail eggs for $1.89, so I got some. When checking out the cashier charged me $2.99 each. I asked the cashier if there is a mistake because I remember itās $1.89 and can you double check the price on the shelf with me. The manager at customer service said, āThatās the price for the package of 10 quail eggs and this is 12 quail eggs. Can you count?ā I walked to other end of the store with him, all the package of 12 quail eggs was on top of the price tag $1.89 and the other side quail eggs for $2.99 was empty. He said, āMy employees put it in the wrong spot and they donāt know English or how to read English. You (he refer to me) donāt know how to read 10 quail eggs $1.89 and look at the barcode on the package donāt match. This barcode is for the $2.99 quail eggs.ā I told him I want my money back and you should change that price label or stamp a price sticker on each package. I noticed that the bigger box items have a price sticker on them and the small package items donāt in the store. I will keep in mind to really bring a magnifying glass on my next shopping trip. He said, āItās your mistake for reading the labels wrong and youāre a trouble customer. This is the second time, you have cause trouble here and we will never want to do business with you again.ā Why am I causing trouble because I check my receipt. Last time, I saw the papaya for sale for .99 cent a pound and when at the checkout they charged $1.49 a pound and end up giving me back $1.50. Is this how they do business, scamming customers. For every package of quail eggs, you earned an extra $1.10 and after 10 package sold, you get $11 extra. Watch out for karma. Stealing is a sin, especially from peopleās hard...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFinally a grocer that looks like they will survive. In the 21yrs I have lived in this neighborhood, I have seen this location/grocery store try to survive under Pakistani, then Korean, now Asian. The staff consists of friendly, bilingual young people, at least the cashiers are. The produce and meat selection are great,( although not as varied a selection as a chain store) as is the fresh fish. The Latino and Russian selection are good. Love buying my herbs and spices in the Latino section. Good selection of loose leaf tea with great prices as compared to Teavana. They have expanded and now include utensils and cookware-some electric, and textiles. There is cows milk, soy milk and cotijo cheese, but not expansive dairy products like creamer, other cheeses, almond milk, yogurt etc. Great beer selection with a backside cooler! Hopefully they will eventually get a steamtable deli. They do have fresh Vietnamese sandwiches delivered daily on this excellent bread like a subsandwich and the "humbao"(sp) the dough wrapped buns with meat and boiled egg inside-seriously delicious. The prices compared to Safeway or Haggen- no comparison, get your produce here, and chicken. In the winter-no heat in store, dress warm with a hat, scarf and gloves, which of course is great in the summer. Love this place. I would go here before the chain...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreItās been awhile since I shopped here & today will be my last time. The man at the deli greeted me with a smile, the cashier was also friendly(they have done nothing wrong)
I decided to buy a 25lb bag of rice at checkout. The cashier told me I could come back and grab the rice as I didnāt have enough hands to carry it all. I came back in grabbed the rice and thanked the cashier once again for allowing me to make a second trip. As I got towards the door another employee rushed towards me and stopped me and told me I had to pay. I explained to her that I have already paid and she said no and didnāt believe me. The cashier that had rung me up told her I paid already in Vietnamese. Thatās when she let me go, but she did not apologize for accusing me of shoplifting. I have never felt more embarrassed or humiliated. Before you accuse others of shoplifting, please invest in your own shopping carts vs using other shopping carts from other groceries stores such...
