I want to like Miller's, but it seems my experience was a little different than most reviewers.
I brought my fiancés new engagement ring here to be resized on Feb 15th, 2022. They said it would be around 2 weeks, maybe sooner. That's fine no worries. On my copy of the order slip the expected completion date was Feb 28th, 2022, as I had not heard anything from them yet on that date I called to ask about its status. A voicemail answered the phone and stated Miller's would be closed for renovations until March 15, 2022. I was a little confused that not only would they be keeping her engagement ring another two weeks, no one had been in contact to let us know about this. Not great.
So I wait until March 15th and call them again. They ask for my name and look for the ring. And look. And look. They say maybe it's under my fiancés name. So they look around some more. Finally they say they will keep looking and give me a call back when they find it. This is my fiancés engagement ring I bought her, worth thousands of dollars, that has been here for a month and now can't be found.
Later in the day I get a call that they found the ring, but the resizing has not been done because the jeweler is out of town, and to call back Saturday the 19th and it should be done by then. So by now the engagement ring will have been here for over a month, and still has not started to be resized. Finally today Friday the 18th I get a call that my ring is done and I can come pick it up.
To counteract my negative experience, the resizing seems to have been done well and now correctly fits her finger. But I proposed to her Feb 7th, gave them the ring to be resized Feb15th, and now on March 18th finally have it back. Pretty much my entire engagement so far the ring was at Millers, 32 days out of 40.
Anyway, like I started with it seems most customers are very satisfied so I was probably an outlier. But I wasn't offered any kind of apology or discount that they had kept our ring for so long without any communication (and...
Read moreMiller’s Jewelry and Repair has been a huge help for all my jewelry and watch repairs. I have been coming here for years to change my watch batteries. Every time I take them to a mall I have regret. Not only the time it takes but the pricing is always ridiculous.
Andrew and his family owned jewelry business have super fair pricing and can usually do it there unless it’s a rare battery type.
You can tell by looking around at their customers that they get a ton of repeat business for the quality of their jewelry and watch repair work, and sold goods.
While I was waiting for a watch service we had a lady come in and buy a ring, another get a stone set into a ring ( gemstone), buy a watch they had in the case and also repair rings that had gems fall out.
They have a full team of workers in the back so the wait is usually reasonable.
The services I have for watch battery changing, band adjustments, cleaning and servicing can take some time and they are great at calling and notifying when products are done.
Andrew also called me right away to let me know my items would take a bit longer to order parts they didn’t have on hand when they opened the watches.
I’ve sent friend and clients here and I come back even though I don’t live close because of their fair pricing, quality of work, and professionalism in what I would hope to get from a quality Tacoma Jewelry and Repair shop.
They have also sent me elsewhere in Tacoma if there’s something they can’t do or aren’t great at which says a lot about how they care for their jewelry and repair customers.
Thanks for providing great, reasonably priced service and helping the Tacoma community with their Jewelry and repair needs!
Appreciate making my...
Read moreWARNING! Don’t do business here! With such immense regret, we did. Unfortunately needing our rings done on time was procrastinated so as the time drew closer the owner mike miller decided to do the work in a week’s crunch time. When we went to get the rings my husband reviewed them, there was a chipped diamond & work not done as prior discussed. Mike obviously knew he did poor workmanship because when my husband asked to speak to him, he did not want to give him the time of day and made us wait a long time. When mike finally did come up front to talk to us he didn’t like that my husband was knowledgeable for one, and when my husband calmly discussed the poor workmanship on the rings. Mike then took it personal and went into a fit of rage, yelling and cursing, basically wanting us to settle for the rings as is, we asked for him just to fix it then he said he didn't want our business. At that point we agreed we didn't want to continue our business with him either and all we wanted was our refund and receipt and to get out of that hostile environment. He refused and that’s when we had to involve the police. Thank God we got a refund after all that waiting and this mans stubbornness! One last thing the young gentlemen employees were nice, but the owner Mike is a nightmare. Don’t...
