Huck's Lost Mine — Attraction in Talking Rock

We came across this awesome little mine spot on Google and knew we needed to go to give a review. Well we are certainly glad we stopped in. This awesome spot is run by a great couple, wish we had gotten their names. They made us feel so important and made sure all our questions got answers. They were very attentive to details and every step through. We had a tired toddler with us, but they didn’t let that bother anyone, which we were thankful for. If we didn’t know what a stone was they would definitely find out the right answer. The whole experience from beginning to end was absolutely amazing!! From toddlers to adults to grandmas we all had a great girls day out in Blue Ridge. Highly recommend!! Look for the truck or you will miss it from the road! Can’t wait to go back again!! Thanks...

We have been to several other mining places in New Hampshire, Florida and more, but Huck’s is BY FAR the best!! My grandkids ages 6, 9 and 13 mined for gems and fossils, did axe throwing, and bought and opened geodes. They got to use the big machine outside for breaking the geodes. When our time was up at the axe throwing only 2 of the 3 grandkids had gotten the axe to hit and stick on target and one didn’t. Well, the people at Huck’s let her keep trying and offered her some tips to help her. After about another 10 minutes she got her axe to hit and stick! The gems were amazing in both size and clarity. I went to Huck’s gem mine and it was an absolutely great experience! It was very educational and very fun. All of the gems were natural and so pretty. I think that it is a good place if you want a little education and want to have a lot of fun! There was one girl there who is very educational, and knew a lot about the gems. Her name was Kadie Thomason. She was so nice and excellent help. she knew so much about the gems, and how to tell the difference. I had never knew there were so many types of gems.
