Gym is going downhill, unfortunately. Most members used to be courteous, but now there are many who treat the gym as if it is in their own home. People tie up multiple pieces of equipment using one as a place for phone, towel, or water bottle, while working out on another. Many will sit on equipment and play with their phone for 20 minutes, and then get up after not even using the equipment at all, or will take 10 minute phone breaks during sets--effectively tying up a single piece for 30 minutes or more. Plates get re-racked about 50% of the time. Not sure how the owner can really address any of the above, since the gym is, after all, located in South Tampa where arrogance, and lack of consideration for others is the norm.
The latest though, is several members now bring their large dogs and let them run loose throughout the gym. And, of course, if you don't immediately drop to your knees, and worship any and every nearby canine, you're automatically labeled a bad person. So, while trying to work out in what is a fairly tight space, you're getting licked and potentially tripped by loose dogs. This opens up all kinds of liability for the owner, and is something that they do have...
Read moreMy name Is Matt I am one of the Independent Trainers at The Forge. The Forge has been a fantastic spot for me and my clients. Having utilized a few different facilities for my training services Tom (Owner) and the Forge have been my favorite and the most professional location I have been to. A very friendly and hard working atmosphere really help my clients perform to the best of their abilities. The equipment is top notch and some machines even hard to come by. Dumbbells up to 150lbs, multiple squat racks, and glute bridge machine are always appreciated :) The facility is very clean, and the members and staff try to keep it that way, wiping down all equipment. Overall the gym is very welcoming, great for all ages and you will have more quality workouts here than at most competitor gyms especially corporate, in the area. Busy times of the day are around 5-7:30pm normal after work hours. Least busy times are in the mornings around 8am-12noon and in the early afternoon. The Forge Is 24/7 so come in anytime to check it out!

Read moreI’ve been looking for a gym in the Tampa area for about 6 months and I’ve tried many different ones. I found this one online and the owner was cool enough to give me a free 3 day trial. If you are looking for a better workout and some privacy as you work out this gym is perfect. It’s got everything you need no matter what kind of workouts you are into. It’s 24 hours and never too crowded although when there are people in there they are also taking their workouts seriously and seem to all be friends with each other at the same time. It makes for a comfortable and progressive experience everytime you walk in the building. I will be signing up because I know I will get my results here and probably make some friends along the way. Thanks for the trial I now know where I am comfortable...
