The Barnstormers and Tamworth share a special place in my heart. My parents took my sister and I here every summer to get away from DC. More importantly, to watch my grandad, Dan Rubinate, perform at the Barnstormers. As a young kid, plays are a tough thing. They don't hold the allure of running around in the creek like a crazy person, they aren't video games (new back then), and they require you to sit still for a long time and be silent. Grandad however, made that damn easy. I will never forget him as Toad of Toad Hall, or any of the other wonderful performances by the very talented actors at the Barnstormers.
