I wanted to be giving this bakery/cafe 5 stars across the board but I'd be lying if I said service was good. I started to place my order, no hello or smile, and could immediately tell the young lady was struggling with finding the cookies on her screen. I kept assuring her, no rush, I said it twice. I added in a mocha latte and a loaf of their awesome looking bread. I got the last loaf of whole wheat sourdough bread. The rep asked if I'd like it sliced and I was immediately impressed because so many bread shops up north do not have the bread slicer. I paid for my order. She handed me the bread she had sliced and I noticed it was just slid into a paper bag, not plastic. Another couple had stepped up so I waited off to the side. I did see the second rep there also slice a loaf and it got slid into a plastic bag to keep it fresh. In the paper bag, air getting at it, by the time I get back to the Boston area that night I knew it would already be getting hard. I asked the second rep if she could put mine in plastic and explained it wasn't getting used until the next day. She ended up sticking the paper bag into a plastic bag and tied it. At $8.00 a loaf, sorry not acceptable. If any readers think I'm being too fussy, let me just say a loaf at that price for me is a treat. And my family owned a bakery for over 50 years. Bread without all those stabilizers/preserves gets steal quickly if you don't take measures to keep as much air out as possible. When I got home that night I wanted to try a slice. I'm not sure if the blades on their slicer are full or if it's a learning curve with the rep who sliced it. The slices were not cut through, and top and bottom crust pulled away from center making it impossible to use for sandwiches. Please see picture. Okay on a positive note, the lady who handed me my beverage was very friendly, which made up for the lack of a greeting or even a thank you from the person who waited on me. Their location is amazing with the back deck over looking the beautiful river. Awesome place to enjoy your book or just listening to nature at it's best. The latte was tasty, their homemade mocha was excellent. Their cookies are simply Heaven. I'm hoping this was just an off day for the rep who waited on me. If it wasn't she's in the wrong field. When you make that drive to get away from the city, and walk into a small bakery, where reviews for the most part are great, you'd like to get that full experience with no regrets. I'll give them another try. Again, everyone has off days, and with it being tough to find good employees, I empathethise completely because...

I am reluctant to use the phrase "hidden gem," but that is exactly what this place is. Everything was excellent, great breads, baked goods, coffee, we were impressed with everything we had today and are happy to have found this bakery. Customer service was top notch, and had plenty of seating, including tables and a counter. I wouldn't hesitate to stop by this place when in town or...

Walked in a Wednesday morning to find wonderful live music. We were warmly greeted and waited on. The gingerbread was amazing, coffee cake sublime. When my husband spilled his coffee he was given a free replacement and the spill cleaned right up. We were so impressed we ordered lunch to go and a loaf of the most amazing multigrain sourdough bread. An AWESOME...

This place feels like it was written into existence. There's plenty of seating and space inside for reading, chats, working. The baked goods are all very tasty (egg/cheese breakfast croissant pictured). The shortbread cookie is great. The deck out back and seating by the creek is perfect, peaceful, kid friendly. Can't wait to come back and spend more time.

Came on a weekend away with my girlfriend and sat out on the back porch with a view of the little river running behind the bakery. Food was all housemade and delicious and the coffee was good too. Owner came out to chat with us. Sweet lady. Gave us a few recommendations of places in the area to check out while we are here for the weekend.
