For some reason, I can only review the playground located in this MASSIVE nature preserve. My son and I did go to the playground. It's a good size, typical playground activities, restrooms, SHADE, places to sit, although very limited and right off a parking lot. My son and I explored a lot more of this nature preserve than just the playground. We walked the Cove Trail, which spilled out onto the bank of Lake Wylie, and spent the majority of our time there. Perfect on a sunny 70° day like today with a little one. It's a little slippery everywhere because of it being fall and leaves are everywhere, but the leaves this time of year are also what makes this place beautiful.
That being said, if you've never been there before, then like my son and myself, it's a little confusing because it's surprisingly big. I saw some trail markers, but not nearly enough. I didn't take pictures because I needed my map on my phone. I would go back but definitely plan it out a little...
Read moreExcellent playground for kids 3+! Lots of unique climbing features I haven’t seen at other playgrounds. I had fun climbing on the structures too. There’s a little free library as well— leave a book or take one home! Hiking trails are right next to the playground so there’s no need to drive to a different section of the park to explore. It was so clean and fun. There's a massive teepee like thing to the side that my son was interested in too. Also a board that shows you what other things are going on in the park and I want to go on one of the kayaking...
Read moreA fun playground for all ages. There are no swings, but there are some cool climbing opportunities, slides, and a giant frog and unique dragonfly teeter totter. I have gone up to the big slides with my daughter and it’s a very peaceful observation deck in the trees. There are some trails near the playground as well. I wish that it had swings and also a bathroom (only a portapotty) but there are bathrooms at the nature center. The beautiful natural setting and...
