UPDATE: Do notice the failure of anyone associated with this park to respond to my review. It's a honeypot. It's a trap. It's Borne raising taxes. It's a total waste of police time. It's a shame.

Texas Parks and Wildlife and the City of Borne are using this lake like a honeypot. They issue hundreds, if not thousands, of $135 tickets to people visiting this lake. Someone needs to expose this abuse of the people. Judge Pressler’s name is on the citations. Shame on you, Boerne City Council. What you are doing is disgusting by any measure. I've got an idea. Why not put up a sign that just says $135 fine for not including a seventh inflated air chamber to your inflatable kayak. Think of what you did to those boys. Have your EVER stopped and thought about what you are doing? Have you ever stopped and cared enough about the drownings to do something other than profit from them? I'm calling you out. You cannot keep this up. PUT UP A SIGN AT THE TOP OF THE BOAT RAMP. In the name of God, stop what you are doing. Do it for Texas, if you can't...

Clean grounds with plenty of shade trees to park yourself under. Clear water with great access from the entire shoreline to float or swim. We've caught 1-2lb. catfish on wienies and stinkbait with bobbers. Bring your light tackle for the sunfish. Bass must hang out in the center of the lake as there's no cover for them at the shore. I saw a bunch of top water strikes on the little bait fish in the lake but no interest in my spinner baits. Bring your kayak, paddleboard, tubes, chairs, dogs, and fishing poles. No ice or vending machines on premises. Restrooms are nice. Rent paddleboards or kayaks. You pay a little more than you think you should to get in but the place is kept up really well and the water is really enjoyable. Saw people swimming the entire length of the lake Ironman style and little kids jumping in of the dock. Wear swim shoes as it's rocky but that's also what makes the water so clear. Our second time to visit in the past week today and we'll be going back to fish and swim...

We always have a beautiful time coming out to the lake. The water is deep after 5 ft or so going in there is a sudden drop so we have seen over the years the water drop drastically. Besides this it is always a good time. We come and grill and hang out with loved ones. We make plenty of memories. They do an amazing job coming by and emptying trash bins, they have potty potties and a restroom for male and female where you an change in. There is a pavilion you can rent out with a park as well. Our group goes and plays some volleyball. On Holidays there is always police presence. Speed limit is 15 in the park so stay with in that limit other wise you will get pulled over. The do have a rental Booth for paddle boards as well. Over great place to come with family/ friends. You do see people fishing and some may even bring out their boat. There is a $15 cover on a regular weekend if you are not a boerne resident and $20 ok holiday for a day visit. We come out a few times through out the year and...
