This place is a wastewater treatment plant that happens to be a place that birds love as well. So keep your expectations in check, as there is definitely a smell! It is not a park, and as far as I could tell, there didn't seem to be public bathrooms either. That being said, it's a really charming place to walk around in the morning. I have never seen so many coots, blue-winged teals, and lesser scaulps in my life! Found lots of other birds like grebes, pipers, and killdeer as well. The animals in general are pretty scared of humans so it can be a bit difficult to observe them even with binoculars, but there is a blind you can utilize (that has seating) to get a better view and shade from the sun. Read moreA nice area to hike and enjoy the wildlife. When we went it was overcast and kind of gloomy but the ducks were in full force across all the ponds. We hiked the trails but didn't find much wildlife today. I will come back when the weather is nicer and more birds are migrating. Wear mosquito repellent or be eaten alive in the summer. I guess some people have said that it's good for kids. Maybe older kids who are interested in nature.
