El Michoacano Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Austin

I wen to eat there with my mom and my uncle. If you are looking for family oriented place, go away from this place! It’s an awful place. A lot of girls drinking (I’m assuming all of them work there) and kissing with random drunk guys at 4:00 pm! Music was too loud that I had to tell the cashier if they could turned down. After 4 times telling them, they finally turned it down. That’s just the place and terrible service, now let’s talk about the food.

I asked for a fajita taco plate and I got ground beef instead. We didn’t have time to complaint because I was late for my fly so I gave it a shot. It didn’t taste good, beans were so bitter and rice taste like old food.

So disappointed. A great spot it’s been wasted. You would think that that’s how Austin give “Welcome”. They could upgrade chairs/tables/waitresses, and of course the quality...

So first off, the food is excellent. This is Mexican food, scratch made home cooking. The salsa is the best I have ever had. The carnitas were excellent, 5 stars, the barbacoa is cheek meat & was excellent. Rice ,& beans, best I have had. The corn & flour tortillas were scratch made & excellent. We had a side of 2 enchilada's with the mole chocolate sauce, which was unique & very good. Sweet & spicy. Chorizo queso was very good. Pricing was very affordable. Liz, our server was so friendly & helpful. Service is 5 stars. So why 4 star rating? The building itself needs some remodeling/fixing up. But by no means would this keep me from eating here again. Highly recommend, like ten star (on 5 star scale) recommend, as I believe most people have only had tex-mex & not home made Mexican food. Some might say,...

Horrible experience. Walked in at 10am no one in there. Waitress sat down and told us to sit where we want. We sat. Another waitress waited on us. We asked for chips and salsa told it cost $2. We said ok. On the menu it stated chips are free if you order breakfast item🤔🤔. We ordered. She brought our food said if we needed anything else and never came back. We needed more water but she never came back. We got up and went to pay. As we were paying another customer walked in and both waitresses rolled their eyes. Food was ok. Homemade tortillas were hard The floor had old rice under the table that was from the day before. Small bugs that you had to swap away. It was not the cleanest place and the service is horrible.
