We didn't have a chance to explore all of the park space, but it was a fun place to visit. The only reason I give 4 and not 5 stars is because it seems to not be maintained well. All picnic tables are damaged, are warped, or unusable. Some wooden structures have exposed rusted nails. Other than this, there is a great swing set, a nice covered area with good, functional tables, a rock climbing feature for kids, and a good sidewalk for walking. There are also many spaces with large open fields, so this park would be really great for playing some sports, doing gymnastics, flying a kite, playing with a drone, playing badminton or laying out a blanket for a picnic. We also saw a decently sized skate park. I do. It know much about skate parks, so I am not the best to rate it. However, we saw many people there enjoying it immensely. The people varied in ages and abilities, using skateboards, roller skates, roller blades, and scooters. I'm not sure if there are more areas of this park which we did. It see, as we were merely passing through and stopping to stretch our legs. But I would definitely visit...
Read moreSkatepark: Overall it is a decent park, but it needs an update and remodel or expansion to improve the street sections. There are too many transition areas that are too big, and other obstacles that are poorly placed or not well designed, to the point that some go almost completely unused. The lone flatbar is in a terrible spot and the weird round manual pads are too tall, not wide enough, and poorly situated. There is a sort of snake run transition area that is almost never skated and a waste of space. By far, one of the most skated obstacles is a single ledge that is about 8 feet long. The park needs a remodel or expansion on the east side (which is all grass at the moment) to improve the street areas - adding more ledges of different lengths and heights, basic curbs and usable manual pads, lower hubbas, and flatbars that are in spots that people can actually skate. This will engage more skaters of different skill levels. I hope the city considers this, and if so, takes cues (or the builder) from the new Dickies...
