Village Sanctuary Comics & Games — Attraction in The Village

WOW! My best friend’s brother had told us about a comic shop opening up near us so we went to check it out later that day. We did NOT expect to have our lives changed. The atmosphere is great and the store is super clean! The comics were veeerrry nicely displayed on the shelves and it was easy to pick up issues I had been looking for! I wish I knew the name of the man working the register that day because I’d rate this store an extra five stars for him. He was very kind and open and explained everything the store had to offer, including the various DnD sessions my friend and I were looking to be a part of. It felt amazing to be accepted and feel like we’re part of something. I don’t think I’ll forget the last thing he said to us. “You’re always welcome here. Feel free to make this your sanctuary.”

I fully recommend this place to everyone and I can’t wait to see what the future holds...

I really wanted to like this shop, but unfortunately, it fell short in a few key areas. First, the selection is pretty limited—if you're looking for anything beyond mainstream superhero books, you’re out of luck. Indie, horror, or anything remotely niche? Forget it.

Second, they don’t bag and board new comics, which is frustrating. If you're buying new books, you want them in good condition, but here, getting them home without creases or dings is a challenge.

The biggest issue, though, is the subtle but undeniable proselytizing. While they claim they don’t push religion, there’s definitely an underlying agenda. It’s not overt, but you can feel it in the conversations and the way certain books are given priority over others. Comics seem to be second place at this store. Seems to be focusing more on gatherings like DnD and other games. Comics on shelves are not bagged and boarded, and they are not placed correctly, so there are folds in brand new Comics, not something a collector would want. Also, the middle bins are very stail seems to be the same left over Comics that have been picked over. I am very disappointed to see things have changed since the original Sanctuary Comics, but time will tell if they get better or worse with age.

Side not. I have a pull box, and it seems like I constantly don't have everything on my list, so I am forced to buy second hand for marked up prices since my LCS doesn't fulfill...
