Angel Island is an underrated destination in the SF Bay Area. It's easy to get there by ferry from the Ferry Building in SF or the ferry from Tiburon. You can bring or rent a bicycle on the island. Once there, it's worth doing the main hike on the island to the top of Mt. Livermore, about 6 miles round trip with 800 ft of elevation gain. There isn't much but a picnic bench or two and a lot of fencing at the tiny crowded summit areas. The trail down the other side has been destroyed, and the views are not the best.
