I came here to the Banana Creek viewing site for the SpaceX rocket launch. I really wish NASA had made the launch experience better (we viewed it at Banana Creek), there were so many trees and bushes blocking our view and 0 information given to us such as where to look, where it would be launching, and when it would be launching. I had to watch the SpaceX YouTube livestream to keep up with it as no one was telling me anything.

There was very little shade and it was Florida on July 1st...so extremely hot. While viewing the launch, it was unclear where the rocket was, and NASA staff did not explain where it was because there was no one there on the viewing area. At least I didn't see any of them onsite. EVERYONE was looking at the forward area when the rocket launched from the right side instead, so no one really saw the rocket take off until it was way up into the sky.

It would be super helpful if we had more direction and more people telling us what the experience will be like because some people (like us) have traveled far. Again, like I said, the trees/bushes is what really irritated me. Like, there were only a couple of them and they were blocking our view of the launch so people were really bummed out.

I think it is fantastic that NASA is even offering this as an opportunity, but there are just a couple of small things that they could do to enhance that experience and make...

I see a 3star review from someone else who was there on the same day as we went. I disagree with some of the points made. NASA had a chap at the front of the bleachers with a microphone who has giving out info in the hour running up to the launch. Several times he explicitly told viewers which launch site to look at.

There has also a massive map thing at the front of the bleachers telling you which launch pad each one was along with further info.

The day was absolutely scorching hot, and lots of people sat on the run up with umbrellas up. We arrived prob 2hr before launch, and there were plenty of seats left, but these soon filled up.

I do agree with the other reviewer about a couple of trees blocking the launch view, and this could certainly be fixed by NASA. We had a clear view, but a couple of meters to either side and the rocket was obscured slightly. ANYWAY, within seconds, the rocket is in the sky and everyone has a good view.

They could EASILY have more (and better) seating at this site, along with better facilities for cold drinks and stuff right at the bleachers as there is a ton of space. Having said that it was a minutes walk to get into the museum/cafe area which was air conditioned and had plenty to do and look at.

Getting everyone out and back from the launch site was extremely well organised.

Overall I am glad we went and got to...

If you are at the Kennedy space visitors centre and a launch is going off then the bus ticket to the Saturn V and banana creek is included. If after normal opening hours then it is $70 in addition to the Kennedy space centre ticket. You need this after hours as well. No allocated seating so first in get the best choice. There can be a queue to get into the carpark. There will be queue before they reopen the gates after hours. Security check, scan KSC QR code for entry then off to the buses. Show launch transportation ticket barcode before getting on the bus. The buses are very well managed and quick to get there and back again. They had a guy Bill Scaffer giving commentary non stop before the launch. While informative it became overwhelming and non stop. If you want to listen to the launch commentary from nasa there is no chance. He is non stop and loud. You will need noise cancelling headphones to be able to hear anything other than his commentary. Two people around me had to go and walk to get "away from the onslaught" of his commentary. He is knowledgeable and keeps the kids engaged. Get there early and don't forget to park somewhere so you can find...

Free park with free parking with the view over the Indian River. Went to see the Falcon 9 launch. It was an amazing experience. It was very cold (mid February). We arrived at 5:40 pm and launch was at 6:15 pm. There was still free parking. There was a crowd of local people with foldable chairs, snacks, cameras, binoculars and blankets since it was windy and chilly. The park has bathrooms by the river. It was a cloudy day, but still exciting to see the launch. We had a good clear unobstructed view of the launch for free. It was a little far compared to the paid view, but once the vibrations and rubbling sounds get to you, it’s great and feels incredible! This was our first launch viewing, so it was an amazing experience. This picture is with Zoom on an iPhone.

This place has some of the most amazing people here. Banana Creek Launch Viewing has scientist chemist engineers etc. I have gotten an opportunity to get to know some of them and it's amazing the things that they actually do. Every time I meet one of my ask them questions about their job things I can't even understand but it's very interesting and intriguing. One day I will be able to go inside and give you guys I look at the amazing things what they do
