Typically I would give the Toledo Zoo a 5 star review, and there were some great new additions since the last time The lights were amazing, and the hot chocolate was tasty as always. The reason I'm giving this particular review 2 stars is very specifically for the train ride/carasoul line for tickets and how it was very poorly ran. First off you have to wait in the carasoul line for train tickets. Why aren't there 2 separate lines? Second, they were only letting on about 8 people on the carasoul at a time when over 75% of the seats were open. The line moved so slow that I thought they were hand writing receipts, joking of course but seriously what took so long to ring people up. We watched the train come and go 3 times while waiting in line to buy tickets for my family, and the train wasn't full any of those 3 times as people were still in the ticket line and mind you it'sthe middle of winter, so in other words it'scold outside. So, we finally got to just about the front of the ticket line AMD then the ticket machine ran out of tickets, and they tried putting the new set of tickets into the machine. After about another 10 minutes of watching them try to fix the machine we finally said the heck with it and left. It was the last thing we were going to do for the night before we left and it really put a bad taste in mi y mouth. They really, really need to improve their process for ticketing at the train/carasoul. In general I really love the Zoo and have no complaints or issues but this was just very disappointing. Ok, rant over. Still love...

SO nice to have such a wonderful venue so close to home (Tecumseh), and see today's best touring musicians! We saw TTB (Tedeschi Trucks Band) and as usual THEY were AMAZING! SUCH TALENT! 12 of the BEST MUSICIANS in the business onstage, working like a well oiled machine! IF you love the ALLMAN BROTHERS, (Derek Trucks was their lead guitar player, and a full time brother by age 20! A child prodigy-playing slide, and doing Duane proud) you'll love TTB! But, I digress. The Toledo Zoo Amphitheatre, is a lovely, charming venue! Beautiful architecture, and WHAT a stage! We sat stage right, just about 4th row, so the optics were awesome! The sound was SUPERB! (AGAIN, it may depend on the artist, and THEIR sound system, but it was like listening to a LIVE record-THAT much finesse!) The seating was easy to access. I particularly like the fact the aisles are just that, AISLES, NOT STAIRS! Much easier to navigate, especially with such a big crowd! Gently sloped down to the front. We grabbed a quick bite, sat at a lovely outside patio before TTB took the stage, missing part of the opening act but, could hear it wonderfully! The BIGGEST CAVEAT IS THE PARKING SITUATION! We ended up parking on the street, quite a few blocks away, while Toledo PD sat in front of several parking lot entrances blocking access. NO handicap available either! So the venue, sound, ambience, were great, accessibility NOT! It was very easy leaving with no major traffic tie ups! Another wonderful...

I went and seen Robert Plant and Allison Krause on 6/14/24 highly disappointed. First of all I paid $139 a ticket x 2 plus tax and other fees for 1 1/2 hour show. I expected to hear some of their big hits like Stairway to Heaven and Whiskey Lalaby not a chance. Instead I heard music and songs I wasn't familiar with more like blues than rock and roll. Not at all what I expected. Allison Krause was pretty good especially on the violin but I expected more from Robert Plant maybe he's getting too old. I seen him over 24 years ago in Detroit at the Fox and he was good then. I probably won't see another concert at the Amplitheater as this concert was way too short 1 1/2 hours long for a ridiculous price . I would rather go to a country fair and see a concert as it is much cheaper, longer concert, and good seats. Also I waited in line for 20 minutes to get an ice cream and when I got to the very front of the line the cash register was broke and I got nothing. I waited in the hot sun for 20 minutes for nothing and they wouldn't even except the exact cash. I told them I was going to post this online terrible service. So think twice before you buy expensive tickets for a short concert and become disappointed like me because they don't play any of the songs you want to hear....

I love the zoo. On Mondays it is free to go for all toledo members. And also the monarch is the bessst place in the whole zoo to get food for yourself and children and reasonable prices!! I've tried every food stand in the zoo. I wouldn't steer you wrong. If your looking for a burger that is plain and more easier eaten with no teeth there is a stand close by right when you walk in from Broadway entrance that has burgers. I'm not in love with them but I could see that people who don't love lots of spice or flavor and can't eat things as easy would love them. Best place for kids is the mini feed a pet place or the giraffe station cause you get to interact with the animals. IF YOU BRING CASH YOU CANT USE IT. YOU HAVE TO BRING CASH AND PUT IT ON A ZOO CARD WHICH IS EASY TO DO OR BRING YOU CASH APP CARD OR APPLE PAY. While pregnant I was stuck having to get a wagon for my new puppy so he could come in the park. Must have paperwork and we'll mannered puppy and sign a paper saying anything that happens to another or pup is on you and if disrupts other animals the pup must be removed. My puppy did great due to I only stay at zoo for an hour and a half. But it was fun.

This place was great to see a stage act. We say Steve Martin and Martin Short here and the show was good. The venue was orderly with ampel ushers and security. The zoo was closed for the evening, access only for the show. The worst part of the entire evening was the parking. Slow entrence and horribly controlled exit traffic. It took over an hour to leave after we made it to the car. Park as close to the exit as possible, the extra walk is worth it when weighed against gridlock traffic after a show. Overall a great place for a show, but be prepared for the parking issue.
