Living right next to Bethpage State Park is truly a blessing. This park is absolutely beautiful, and it’s become part of our daily life — we take our dog Piper here almost every day for walks. No matter how many times I’ve been, it never loses its charm.
The park is filled with multiple trails, each offering a different experience. Some are peaceful and wooded, others more open with sweeping views, but all are gorgeous. Walking here often feels like being transported upstate — you’d never believe you’re still on Long Island. The views, especially during different seasons, are breathtaking.
There’s also so much more than just walking trails. The playground is great for families, and of course, the world-class golf courses are a huge draw. Bethpage Black is legendary, and the fact that the Ryder Cup is coming here in September speaks volumes about the quality of the course. Even if you don’t golf, just being around those perfectly maintained fairways is something special.
Another highlight is that the park connects to the 12-mile Bethpage Bikeway, which runs all the way from Massapequa to the shoreline. Whether you’re biking or walking parts of it, it’s one of the most beautiful trails in the region.
Bethpage State Park is more than just a park — it’s a piece of nature, history, and recreation all wrapped together. It’s gorgeous, peaceful, and endlessly enjoyable. Truly one of Long...
Read moreVery convenient layout, the parking lot, playground, bathroom and picnic/bbq areas were located right next to each other, other parks require you to struggle and lug around all of your food and equipment all over the place, aren't we here to relax? Also the playground was clean, there was no garbage and there were no leaves lying around for the children to slip on, i wish the parks in brooklyn were like that, good job guys! keep up the good work! As a side note it was confusing trying to here from the highway they need to improve the signs and give clearer directions from their website, multiple people in my car group ended up at the golf course instead, i actually had a police officer who was kind enuff to notice I was lost and let me follow him to the picnic grounds, visiters being lost trying to find the park seems to be a regular thing, i think there is some confusion with the directions and using GPS which needs to be addressed, someone should check it out. Other than that very nice park, if...
Read moreThis place was an excellent spot to have fun with family especially young kids. The jungle gym is very intricately designed for maximum fun. My 5 year old son had a great time swinging and sliding and climbing and running around and spinning and bouncing and generally having an outstanding time. He said he likes this park even more than the one at Domino Park in Williamsburg!! I was like whoa but that one was best on earth I thought. No this one, he said. The reason this park gets 4 stars is because they failed the most basic trait of any park, let alone a STATE park: the 3 water fountains in walking distance from the playground that I found were all not working. How pathetic. The facilities such as the bathroom were working, including the machine taking money for parking. But not water fountains which are essential for life. I mean come on New York State what’s the issue? Why can’t you fix the water fountains?? Other than that a very nice visit with...
