I joined some friends at a local "free concert" Tanner Park,Copaigue ~I suppose if I wore something warmer I would have felt a little more comfortable (it was close to the 90's all day) the winds kicked up and the temps went down-a blanket would have been perfect. The other issue I had- (Cannabis is legal in the state of NY-to some degree, I suppose and it is considered "medically necessary" . Prior to the performance, the "speaker" came on and announced a "rehash" of the "rules/regulation" for said park. This is what I gathered from the announcement. There is no smoking of any kind in this park, which also included : no cigarettes/cigars, cannabis, VAPES of any kind and we were made aware they had plenty of "public safety officers" as well as police on hand to hand out tickets or what have you to enforce their rules. However, what was permitted was : ALCOHOL and they even sold it there. There were ALOT of intoxicated people. I witnessed many stumbling around the grounds. I watched a woman down a litre of vodka & toss it in the trash. You could see many many intoxicated groups of people. I wondered why this was acceptable???? And shouldn't public intoxification be enforced as well? I also wondered ; who might be (or more-how many) legally carrying a concealed gun. There should have been a long line of cars being pulled over upon leaving.... nada Going forward, I feel I must boycott such "venues" as they are obsolete...

There has been times that when dealing with staff, they do not educate others on how to obtain what's needed to go into the park in the midday. My only gripe about that. The sunrises are absolutely worth getting up earlier than most people. Pictures are amazing but it's well worth it to experience it firsthand!

(Update I appreciate all of the positive people that I've met but there has been a big amount of people that I overhear when I'm here with my cameras and equipment and some make fun of me or think that I'm weird. I'm just here to say that I'm here to enjoy the sunrise and take photos like everyone else the only difference is that I get paid for it.)

I'm a town resident just like...

This place is a Gem, people please don't ruin it. I found it only a couple weeks ago and I love spending time near the beach, the boardwalk, that park, it's got everything one would hope for.

There is a bar with live music, some food, good drinks and there are the table with seats outside to sit by the beach with a chilled beer and some fish and chips or chicken fingers and fries, the menu has more stuff for everyone to enjoy. There are concerts held at Tanner Park as well. Great track for bike riding, scooting, jogging or just taking a walk. They have various soccer and, baseball fields. They also have skate board parks. A very beautiful and...

Fantastic place to grab a scenic view of the Great South Bay. This park is expansive with ball fields, a skate park, playground, water spray park etc. The main attraction might be its fishing pier and access to a small beach on the Bay- With access limited to the water, its great to find a place like this...I highly recommend you check it out. During the season - probably Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day- it’s a Town of Babylon resident park. You can enjoy the facility in the off season or go to one of the live music events after hours at Sully’s Wharf- grab a drink and a bite to eat and enjoy the music and the view!

This park is one of my favorite spots on the Great South Bay. I love the beautiful paths by the water. The upcoming summer makes me excited for kayaking, community events, swimming, long walks, & long nights with cotton candy sunsets. The entire park is well maintained & a part of my day.
