I was craving some Polish food which is almost impossible to find when you live in Atlanta. Polish food feels like the southern food of Europe, hearty, fatty with big portions. I walk up and a giant man opens the door for me as I walk in. Did this man work here? No, just a patron of the bar that was eager to see someone from out of town to walk in.
Walking in you feel you are at a dive bar, but it is your home. All of the patrons and bar tender could have easily kicked my butt while dragging a cig, but were all very sweet and welcoming. Very dark and folks talking to each other like family. 6 folks were in there when I walked in at 7 pm on a Thursday, not speaking my custom southern American tongue but polish I would assume. No woman at the bar other than the one that served me my food. Had a big tall polish beer while waiting for my food. Ordered the Hungarian pancake and tripe soup. Tripe soup was okay, hearty fatty and filling. The Hungarian pancake, was like nothing I have ever had. If I could describe it, a fried bread folded over with chunky meat and a brown gravy topped with sour cream and chives. It was so rich and flavorful, that I couldn't finish because of the size of the portion if I tried. The bar tender asserted me, I made a great choice. If you are down for biscuits and gravy, meatloaf with a loaf of bread, bangers and mash, you will like this dish.
Bottom line, this is a dive bar that serves some authentic eastern european food. A place if you love to explore food and different culture. Love this place and would recommend to the adventurers, not good for...
Read moreThe place is fantastic, the food tastes homemade and out of this world!!. My family and I were long time fans of Bozena before the owner retired and the place closed . Zagloba is a little small place and the outside does not scream polish food at first with its sports bar sign but once inside it changes. The seating section although small feels like your in an old cottage house with crafted wood, the menu although small has great options. Never had Goulash before but the Hungarian pancakes were great... The kielbasa was top notch and tasty and the pierogies( what every polishman loves) were out of this world delicious. Side note, frying pierogies is an American thing and not traditional so ask for them fried otherwise they will be traditionally boiled. They also serve zwviec( hope I spelled it right) polish beer topping off a nice night . They allso have a full service bat and a flat screen to show sports games for...

Pierogis my favorite are potato and cheese. Get extra sour cream. Hungarian Pancake (aka the MAN CAKE). Seriously this is everything a man would want. Giant potato pancake with stewed meats and peppers inside. With a delicious gravy poured all over it. With a dollop of sour cream. This will settle your stomach. Trust me Great little place they have good food specials from time to time. My favorite is the lard. Yes lard it’s like a meat butter infused with bacon bits so good.
