Escape the Room Game LI — Attraction in Town of Brookhaven

Went here for Father's Day with my family. We did the Alcatraz Room. The puzzle room itself was very lock and code heavy which isn't bad and was a good difficulty level for us challenging but not impossible. We beat it was 4 minutes to spare. The staff was very nice and helpful. There are two reasons for the 3 star review. The first is the directions. We typed in the location on our confirmation email and it brought us to the wrong location which the staff there says happens all the time. We had to get back into the car and drive 20 minutes further to get there. If this is something that happens often I feel that there should be someway to clear up the confusion.

The 2nd reason for the 3 stars was the dust. The room was very dusty it was so bad that my mom had an allergy attack and when we got home needed a nebulizer treatment. There was one point that we needed to use an air blower to reveal a clue and the amount of dust that flew off the furniture was noticeable. There was also a fan in the room that had another clue that was also filled with dust bunnies. Even in the hallway to get to the room the props on the wall had cobwebs and strands of dust...

I would've rated this a 5 star escape room if not for one single mistake. We were 30 minutes into our game but ended up getting stuck on one of the locks for the rest of the remaining time and couldn't advance until we had figured it out. Turns out one of the staff had switched the lock by mistake with another one in the room and thus made it impossible for us to escape. Our game master apologized for the mistake but when your business is based on escaping the room, you should be more careful when preparing the room. I unfortunately didn't ask for a refund at the time because it didn't cross my mind in the moment but I may email their management team and see what we can do on that front. I'll update this review depending on there response.

Escape the room Long Island is one of the best escape rooms I've played here on LI. I've played most of the available escape rooms we have here on LI (which isn't many) and you won't find puzzles more creative and challenging then here at escape the room. The rooms here are so cute and it looks like they put a lot of time into the design and style of the room. (The cabin looks like an actual cabin!) at other escape rooms you usually come across some cheesy room that barely fits the theme. I've played both their yaphank games and can't wait to check out ronkonkoma ! You deff gotta check it out...
