Boiling Pot — Attraction in Town of Canajoharie

Feels like a local swimming hole. Very little signage and the trail takes a little bit to find (it's behind you if you park at the picnic tables). House next door has strung off the end of the trail due to their abutting property.

Also have to wonder about any polluting discharge from the town ending up where people swim...

It’s a nice watering hole, but definitely dangerous if you are underprepared. Lots of crayfish and critters, which was somewhat expected. The water was nice but the trek down is steep and not easily accessible. The actual “Boiling Pot” is also not too big so it can be a bit awkward. This is a great little spot to cool down. The pothole is pretty deep so young children should be supervised. Also the creek can be slick so be careful. AGreat place to catch crayfish mid to late summer as well. Traffic has been pretty congested the last few yrs so expect other people...
