Krause's Homemade Candy — Attraction in Town of Colonie

Very good selection and variety. Ive never purchased something from here that I didn't like. I do want to leave a little feedback however. I came in a couple days before valentine's day, a time where I'm sure its very busy and people get frustrated. When I was in, there were 2 people behind the assorted chocolate displays that were a little rude, to the point where an older woman was made very uncomfortable because the person behind the counter got frustrated and threw away her order and made her start over. The woman apologized repeatedly and insisted that she'd pay for the thrown away order but they refused. There seemed to be confusion because the plastic barriers made it very difficult to hear and they're helping 3 people at a time trying to talk over and hear everyone, unpleasant. I understand that because of covid there's an effort to get everyone in and out quickly but this method probably wasn't the best. The woman was helped and she left with what she wanted but the individual who got frustrated was a bit demeaning towards her and it made a few of us uncomfortable. Not using bad language, but talking to her as if she were a child. I was going to leave feedback through the site but I couldn't find a place to do so. I will edit this review once it is acknowledged by the staff, I just thought maybe this could be an improvement discussion point between staff and customers. What a terrific store! As if it wasn’t enough to feature homemade candy of every imaginable delicious variety in an immaculately clean retail store, they are very friendly, too!

I stopped in today, hoping that my seasonal favorite - caramel apples - might be available. It's early, I know! Barely September....I hoped they wouldn't make fun of me. Crossing my fingers, I stepped into this delightful environment.

First I passed a delectable display of Halloween goodies! Pumpkins, skeletons, witches, everything you can imagine! Wonderful. As difficult as it was, I had to stay on task.

And there they were - straight ahead! Huge apples - caramel covered, caramel and milk chocolate, caramel and milk chocolate plus nuts and caramel with dark chocolate!

WAIT! HOW CAN IT BE? Where's my favorite? The caramel, dark chocolate with nuts? OH, NO!

Fear not. Hearing this, they actually offered to make it for me ON THE SPOT. Yup that's the kind of folks they are.

I bought another one for my husband and promised to be back....

Lots of fun and fantastic candy! Went Thursday before Easter.. The place was hopping but still lots of parking spaces and inside was organized , well stocked and staffed with friendly informed people who went out of there way for me to customize a special caramel apple for my daughter in law. The fudge (I am a fudge connoisseur) is made in house and wonderful-I got penuche with nuts, peanut butter and I believe maple walnut. Staff and customers were happy and every one got along really well.I got some special Easter treats for loved ones and at check out was surprised how reasonably priced everything was...
