2star to begin left at a 4 star! you should definitely give this hotel it a chance but definitely advocate for yourself upon check-in As they are trying to do better for the business they are very accommodating. Next time hoping to leave with a 5 star.
2star experience night 1: as of the end of October when I stayed there it looks like the hotel was going through a transition. I feel this should have been mentioned somewhere in their website because the pictures posted do not reflect what the rooms actually look like. They are making a good effort to switch out beds and put in new toilets, sinks, showers etc. There’s a whole separate three floor unit at the back of the parking lot and that is the hotel rooms you should ask for if you go right now. Even the culture of people using that part of the hotel are different.I unfortunately got a room that was not updated in the original building and it definitely reflected much of the reviews you read. outlined belowthe bad first and a good last.
Cons:
to be fair I did not call ahead to inform the hotel that I was coming with my service dog it had slipped my mind, I try to do that so not to alarm but that does not excuse the rude welcoming that I got from the desk attendant when I first came to check in. Instead of asking me if that was a service dog or to kindly tell me that dogs were not allowed she abruptly shamed me and said no dogs allowed in here. When I told her it was a service dog she did correct her behavior and accommodated. But this was only her first offense...
when I checked into the room I was Very disappointed. Similar to the reviews that are posted, the room smellEd like it had been a smoking room. there’s carpet on the floor So that holds a lot of the gnarly smell. The bathroom smelled like old barbecue sauce from McDonald’s. it was disgusting the bedsheets were not fully clean. The smell was unbearable I had to go out and buy a air purifier for the night. (I know I probably could’ve gotten another hotel but it was late and I have medical issues so I needed to rest ) The windows didn’t open so I couldn’t even air the room which is why I had to buy the air purifier...
I did make a decision to ask the desk attendant if there were any rooms with windows that open so I could air out the room because part of my medical condition requires fresh air circulation while I sleep. She straight up lied to me and told me there were no rooms with windows
Pros:
The next morning I checked out (boyfriend and I were leaving town for just the night and then returning the next night). I was pleased with this experience as the people were different than the woman I encountered. This staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating and apologetic. Explaining to me that yes they do actually have windows in the third-floor building. And they would book me a room in the suite to make up for my experience although they did try to ask for extra $15 to upgrade (and actually confusingly didn’t place us in the suite?,). I was OK with it because I didn’t want to make more of a drama than it was. But they should’ve just offered it for free after the experience I had and again they lied.
I was there with a voucher so it was a little complicated trying to switch over the room because of the price but they made it happen and they actually didn’t charge me $15 in the end which is why I stayed with the four star rating.
The second night was so better. * Agian I tell you if you’re going to stay here please advocate for yourself to make sure to get a room that is in the third-floor building or that is already been renovated. The room was clean the beds were comfortable the bathroom was perfect everything worked. There was no smell I didn’t even have to use my air purifier that night. I definitely plan on coming back to this hotel on my next stay due to the quick accommodating staff and my second night was very good one. I will update this review with my...
The rooms are small and Smell terrible, it's ratchet here. Everybody scream and Hooten and holler and talk and mad loud outside their hotel room At extremely early in the morning, no disregards for other people that work late night or Need sleep because they got to work again the next day. The hotel people here are rude and disrespectful. It's supposed to get a continental breakfast Every morning And also for check out, and it's a ganola, bars and coffee and half, the time they don't have gonolla, bars and then they make a big deal when you want to use the juice machine to hold the juice that isn't even real juice that comes concentrated in a cardboard. Box that they have to stock app on shipment supplies and they make app whatever time they want to serve you breakfast. Cause they don't want to keep running back into the break room just to flip a switch to turn the machine on. One moment it's 10 in the morning next moment. It's 11 in the morning. They act like the juice is coming out of their pocket. The whole towel the company pays for I should be able to have some one night wake up. Not being stingy and trying to hold it when they stock up on this stuff, it comes in a box. It's all wickefied and concentrated, It's not fresh and then when you ask them to turn the machine on. They want to look at you crazy and give you a big stink. I've stayed here plenty of times before and it wasn't like this before. Then you got the housekeeping that knock on your door and come into your room anyways, whether you're there or attempt to try to come into your room when you're sleeping and don't respond the first time they literally there is no privacy here.People can be loud or people can just attempt to that work. Here walking in your room And people that work here are known to steal stuff from people that stay here right out of the room. This is not a safe place... But literally, why are you being greedy? Stingy and hoarding the juice that you have to get rid of anyways to restock. Because you can't keep those concentrated boxes in there. That 1 you have to change them out What is the? Problem. Why do people pay for hotel room service? Examine a dollars when you don't even feel like you're getting. The full service are the full amenities that are promise. You are given to you by the hotel without the people that work for these hotels that corporate. Don't see the stingy leaders like we got cable. There's like maybe 6 channels and the other half of them. I can't understand cause they're in Spanish. But Wi-Fi kind of slow and sucks here the pools aren't opening anymore. They closed all the pools. There's no where to go swimming if you stay here in the summer. There's a lot of things that corporate need to look at fixing.... Some people wanna use this as a place to stay because either they got kicked out of their apartment. Or they were close by and can afford the money to save up for a new apartment right now. And then just try to save up while I go to work or if it needs to look at what they're doing. Because it's going to turn people away to other hotels that are close by. Need to have better people working for these hotels and need to accommodate the amenities that are supposed to be promised or guaranteed in your stay. And then you should make things a little bit cleaner. Affordable and there should be more included for the money you're paying for I just feel like everything is gone. This hotel as hotel company and service is definitely gone down.Hill and it's disgusting since the last time I stayed her things...
Read moreThis was a strange stay to say the least.
When we checked in, we were told that the room we booked was a smoking room although my confirmation said non smoking right on it. The clerk who checked us in was nice enough to “change” us to a non smoking room in the back building. While we were waiting for him to finish the check in, the older man behind the desk with him sat in a chair belching repeatedly. A phone call came in while we were getting our room keys. The clerk took it and proceeded to get upset and start yelling at a guest who seemed like he was having a hard time with the WiFi password. We were handed our keys and given no directions to the room because he was too busy screaming at this guest so we had to ask someone outside in the parking lot where we should go.
There were some shady looking people in the parking lot, but no one bothered us as we unloaded our things. Once we got inside, there were people in the elevator complaining that the pool and tub were both ice cold. We didn’t try them out so I can’t validate this. What I can say is that by the time we reached our room we all had a contact high. The hallways and elevator reeked of pot smoke. Surprisingly our room did not and in fact smelled very clean.
The room itself was nice for the most part. No cleanliness issues that I saw. Very spacious and the beds were amazing. Super comfortable mattresses. The door didn’t close properly though and you had to slam it to be able to lock it.
Breakfast the next morning was less than great. The juice machine has not been cleaned in ages. Waffle maker is so old that it doesn’t regulate the temperature and burns the waffles. Breakfast ends promptly at 9:30am which is a bit early compared to other places I’ve been.
Overall it wasn’t a terrible stay. We got a good night’s sleep and left well rested. I’d say that the price is a little high for what you get, but then again it IS New York so it was sort...
