This is a tough review to write as I visited on a weekday when they aren't open, aren't closed, but more of a "not closed" status.

I feel like it isn't their fault, and is more of the fault of the open/closed mentality of Google maps.

If you want to walk, go whenever you can, the open/closed works. Aside from that, plan better. Probably on their website and don't trust Google maps business hours only.

That being said, when approached by staff, I would say that their friendliness and understanding wasn't top notch and seemed more annoyed I was there and unaware that most of their spaces are weekends only.

When I return when they are more open, I will update this review, I assume the experience will be more...

This place is a gem of a preserve with multiple trails good for all ages and fitness. It offers a great value for an educational experience for aspiring young naturalist and conservationist. Eric, a worker here, literally popped out of a door to great us and tell us in detail how to experience this area in the best way. He's a fantastic asset to these lands, and the lands are fantastic in their own right. The diversity of life here harnesses a desire to preserve it, and I'm glad they do. It's a must stop for anyone who loves long strolls through gorgeous well maintained trails. You won't regret it! (Just...

This place is a gem. We are members even though we live in NYC-my kids love it and we combine a visit to Blooming Hill Farm (nearby in Washingtonville) or Jones Farm (right across the street) with Grasshopper Grove for a perfect day out and about. In addition to the play area and the beautiful trails we love the events-maple sugar workshop, the overnight camping trip, the...

So this place has turned into a preschool area. The museum is actually elsewhere. Nevertheless, there is grasshopper's Grove, a place where children can play, some benches and tables under the trees to relax, and wonderful trails to explore (about 4). They are not lengthy and you will enjoy the scenery which is breathtaking.

Well, I visited this place for hiking. I could see quite a lot wild flowers and other plants where birds and insects fly happily over them. It looks a good place to bring the kids. It is a good start for different hiking loops from short to long hikes. It could be a point-to-point hike start within Black Rock Forest.
