Hercules Candy Company — Attraction in Town of De Witt

Let me start by saying i review a lot on yelp but this is I think my first product review and it's only a review of a single product cause that's all I ordered. I also wish to say I found this company many moons ago via youtube and for some reason watched all the videos of this family ( I realize they all aren't related but they are family watch the videos ) and was mesmerized. NOW TO THE REVIEW

I purchased the Sour Hard Candy , handmade and with love and fun as seen on the videos. I Ordered on a sunday this past and am writing this review 6 minutes after my package arrival.

packaging was great , well protected , a gold star on the box and a brochure and pen inside along with two bags of sour hard candy , both sizes as I don't see them make it often and figured if it was good who knows when it would return.

The ordering process was very user friendly ( if you don't get sidetracked with all the amazing items they make , and end up with a cart full forgetting your plan of order the sour hard candy ) . They tell you via the site when you add to your cart if you would need ice packs and recommend shipping times for your item to arrive perfect. My item did not need ice packs or special shipping but did arrive three days after my order on a sunday.

The product , now again this review comes just after 6 minutes of fedex dropping this off and only after me eating one piece. I order various food items from various sites most recently licorice dot com and the quality from a hand made item as compared to the other site mentioned is night and day. I love sour candys and so does my son , and i like most sour candys this is a perfect balance of sour and fruit flavor. The sour lasts the entire length of the candy as well as the fruit flavor. most sour candies the sour leaves after a few moments but this is mixed directly in not coated it would appear.

This is a company that has been around awhile I assume and will be so for generations , to watch the videos and see Steve give advice and help and pass his knowledge onto the other employees ( sorry name escapes me but he wears a blue bleached polo hat in one of the latest videos while making either blueberry cheesecake or raspberry lemonade hard candy i watch a lot of videos ) is something you don't see anymore and why this families tradition will live long.

I will be order more from there and am waiting for a reason to load up on various barks, oreo bombs , s'mores turtles and who knows what else . I will also be trying the other hard candys, and any ribbon candies basically I am going to eat my way through this company piece by piece.

Finally pricing , for the amount of energy effort time and cost of goods this is a bargain as well. I wish i could give more then 5...

Was introduced to Hercules by a co-worker with the Super Sour and Watermelon candies. Then started watching the videos. I enjoy the behind the scenes look and the process in making the candy. I ordered all hard candy - Green Apple, Super Sour, Lemon and Cranberry and Green Apple and Caramel Ribbon and Peanut Butter Cup Ribbon. Favorite is the Green Apple (hands down) Cranberry is a very subtle flavor, was hoping for more, but not bad. Would LOVE if they would double the citric and malic acid and make a Super Duper Sour. I love that it is mixed throughout the candy and doesn't die out after you suck off the coating. I like the Super Sour as it is, but would like it more if it had more sour. The ribbon candy does not ship well, it doesn't seem, but, you have to break it to eat it anyway, so that didn't bother me. The peanut butter cup was intriguing. If texture is a thing for you, this may throw you off. Getting the peanut butter cup flavors while sucking on a hard candy can confuse the mind. Good flavors, just mind bending... I look forward to purchasing more.

Final note: I 100% love Terry's humor. I had gotten emails about candy's being back in stock, but when I went to make my order, the cranberry was sold out less than 2 days after it was restocked. I added a note to my order that if they had any cranberry in stock, I would love to add a bag to my order. I got a call from the shop within an hour or so saying they had one bag left. I said I would love to have it it if I could, and her response was, no, she was just calling to let me know they had one bag and that I couldn't have it... 🤣🤣 My kind of humor... I thank them for their prompt service and response. I paid for the bag and it was in my shipment. Someday I will make the trip to visit the shop. Until then, I will just have to order remotely...

Yes, the candy is worth the shipping fees... Just buy a lot so that percentage of the shipping is smaller compared to...

I cannot recommend Hercules Candy Co enough!!! My friends and family are now hooked thanks to me! ☺️ I have made 3 big orders already in a little under 1 month 1/2 and have got their Peanut & Cashew Brittle which is my absolute FAVORITE and what I have ordered the most of. I have also ordered the Chocolate Ribbon candy filled with Peanut Butter & Marshmallow Fluff & the flavor peanut butter and chocolate filled ribbon candy and I was super excited to get the little cotton Candy hard candy pieces too which are so yummy. Of course as a HUGE fan of not only their candies & sweets, but also obsessed with their YOUTUBE channel so I HAD to order some merch as well! I bought two hats and a jacket to rep my favorite family owned candy company and Youtube channel! ❤️ Go on Hercules Candy’s YouTube channel where you can watch them make everything from scratch & get to know each of them who work at Hercules Candy Co! I highly recommend everyone watch their YouTube channel because it is so awesome & relaxing to watch the ribbon candy being pulled & stretched & then seeing how everything comes together while laughing with everyone almost as if you’re there with them! You can check out their website where you can order everything and check out their menu which has all kinds of goodies where I am certain you can find something you like and I think it’s really neat that they even have vegan options for those who are vegan! I highly, HIGHLY Recommend Hercules Candy because their candy is always fresh and super tasty and it’s nice to know you can watch any candy, chocolate, or sweet be made on their channel!! I will be ordering in bulk for my next order because I always have to have a back up of my peanut & cashew brittle! Which by the way.. Hercules Candy is the only place that has peanut/cashew brittle that you can get online or in their store in person! I wish I lived in New York so I could go visit their actual store but maybe one day I can make that...
