Saturday we drove an hour out to the Sky high park in Ellicottville. We were prepared for a fun day, celebrating my bfs birthday. We arrived at 3:30pm, got our tickets for the ropes course & zip lining. The girls helped us put on our gear. They didnt have the best attitudes they seemed young and not very excited to be there. After they put us in our gear we walked out and really had no clue what to do. We went to the coaster ride assuming that was how we got to the top. That worker advised us we had to go down and walk the woodchip trail to the courses. Luckily we passed a practice area on our way up and met another worker who asked us why we didnt know what we were doing at all. We felt stupid... he wasn't even surprised that we were not told where to go or what to do- he showed us how to use the clips and the line. Thankfully we ran into him or else we would've been in for a scary surprise. We walked up to the main area and began the course around 4pm. We decided to do the yellow (easy level) courses first bc I was terrified. We got through the first one and had a blast! My anxiety was fading and we were enjoying ourselves! The 2nd course we got on my clips began double locking on every single obstacle. We were stuck at each tree for a good 10 minutes or so. My last zipline my suit loosened up and I felt like I was falling out of it. We got down and I requested to exchange suits. We walked back down & the girls were not helpful again, in fact they seemed annoyed. They changed my clips and then told me it was my fault my suit straps loosened that I should've tightened them, although they didnt give us any instructions on what to do with the clips or straps! Then they told us the ziplining course was about to close, it was almost 5:15pm and we had to hurry back up. We were not happy after driving over an hour to spend the day here that we had to pay $88 to only experience 2 courses- 1 of which took us an hour bc my clips were double locking. We did however make the best of our last bit of time and ran up to make the zipline course right in time and completed that together. Had we known the park closed at 6 we would've went earlier so that is our own fault. With the short time we had, we weren't expecting to be stuck on one course with double locking clips for an hour either. We do want to go back and experience more courses with better plans of...

Read moreHad a great time in the aerial park only to have it smeared by rude staff. Raced my buddy down the dual zip-line course to the bottom and crushed him because he got caught up in traffic. I was tired of having my harness on and ended up waiting for him for about 15 minutes at the bottom so I took it off (They're not the most comfortable thing for men). I'm not complaining about that though. When we went to drop off our harnesses, I handed mine in and the woman taking our stuff said, "Wow, you are evil." "Excuse me?" I said. "It's easier for me to take your harness if you are wearing it." Well, I don't know in what world that is true but I certainly don't think it makes me "Evil." So, be careful future visitors, if you take your harness off by yourself, it means you are an immoral sinner.
Next stop was at the Mountain Coaster which turned out to be some sort of boot camp simulation. Don't expect to have a conversation with your friend while you're waiting in line because the drill sergeant will be yelling rules at your every 5 minutes. After those are pounded in to your head, you get a more personalized blasting; "NEXT!" "TICKET!" "SIT!" "SEAT BELT!" "DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE RULES!?" It was like meeting R. Lee Ermey's character from Full Metal Jacket which sounds exciting but I was just trying to have a relaxing weekend.
In conclusion, everything in the adventure park is awesome except for the people working there who seem to think their job is herding cattle rather than delivering good...
