I've been to Esopus Meadows Preserve since before it was an official park. I've only been there from a kayak. Scenic Hudson does a great job maintaining this park, as they do with all of their parks. The pavilion has 3 picnic tables. A composting toilet is a short walk from the kayak landing area.

If you kayak in this area, you should stop here. In July the water chestnuts start to overtake the area in front of the launch site. They have a harvester mow a path from the Hudson to the launch site a couple of times...
