Lake Taghkanic — Attraction in Town of Gallatin

Great place to go with your love ones family and friends for some fun in the sun the Park have an concession stand although you can have a barbecue they have grills you can also bring your own however I didn't get to go in the water due to the drama and bad vibes from the people I want with nice beach you can rent a boat or canoe for 40 dollar's I believe you get the money back like a rental I gave four stars because I didn't get a chance to ride on the boat there were a cut off time 5pm to take the boat out I came to late i hope to go back in the future beautiful scenery...

While the campsites are not up to the standard of other state parks such as North Lake, the lake itself is gorgeous, clean and mercifully quiet since power boats are not allowed. Hike the quiet park trails, cool off with a swim in the lake and enjoy a snack at the well-stocked concession stand. With a little State money spent on upgrading the tent sites this could easily end up among the top state campsites. Accessibility from the Taconic Parkway is very easy. Kayak, boat, paddleboard rentals, bring your own non motorized watercraft launch areas,, large parking lots, BBQ pits, life guards, park rangers keeping order, playgrounds, grassy picnic areas with picnic tables, bring your tent fir camping at designated camp sites areas.
