JayWay Travel — Attraction in Town of Georgetown

Let me preface this review by saying I am one of the pickiest people in the world… Not kidding! I'm 110%er and expect everybody else to be the same as I am unfortunately 😜. So for me to give a great review is a VERY rare thing, but JayWay Travel hit it out of the ballpark! We have always planned our own vacations because I am notorious for doing extensive research on every single location, accommodation, top things to do, etc. AND want to get the very best rate possible! I drive everyone in my family crazy because I spend way too much time researching. However, our 40th wedding anniversary trip required a lot more time and energy than we were able to provide so we sought a travel agent. After contacting several companies, JayWay seemed like they would be the best fit for us. They were always quick to respond, very thorough, and bent over backwards, wanting to please us in every way. We wanted to go to Croatia and see the beautiful country that we had only seen pictures of for many years. When we saw that JayWay Travel had "Destination Experts" in addition to their "Trip Planners" that sealed the deal!. We didn't have to rely on someone in L.A. who stated they had lived there for a couple of years. We had a "lifelong, born and raised resident from Croatia, leading our "ship" every step of the way! Our team was phenomenal in every way! Tea Miloglav was our Destination Expert and Kaylea See was our Travel Planner. Every accommodation and every excursion was extraordinary! They arranged all of our transfers, ferry transfers, private drivers, and private excursions, including wine tastings, tours of their INCREDIBLE national parks (Google images of Plitvice Lakes National, Park and Krka National Park-those 2 excursions ALONE will sell this vacation on their own), and even dinner in a private home with other American visitors to Croatia by a woman and her husband who have been in Rick Steves Travel Guide as well as National Geographic and travel magazines. Literally, you have to ask yourself; what do I NOT photograph in Croatia??? It is a hidden gem to the rest of the world, right across the Adriatic Sea from the Amalfi Coast of Italy! The Adriatic Sea with black, white or red stone or lush green mountains slope into the Adriatic Sea and it is just spectacular!! Our Destination Expert met us at our hotel even though we arrived into Croatia at 9 PM. Her enthusiasm was contagious as she went over our entire itinerary with us handing us a printed copy along with all of our ferry tickets AND complementary power converters! They literally think of everything!!!! Every single hotel they reserved for us included a phenomenal breakfast every single day!!! Tea also handpicked every one of our drivers and tour guides throughout our entire two-week vacation. She only picks the best!!!! I just now finished a survey following our vacation and let me tell you they have a very rigorous quality control program in these surveys. When you return your survey they don't just go into an empty box somewhere. They are read immediately and you will hear back from the "Feedback Coordinator" immediately whether good, bad or indifferent. My last email from them was closed with the statement "we always seek to improve and make every experience better and better every time. We believe that there are no limits to improvement". Be assured any time we are headed to ANY destination in which they have experts, we will definitely ask Jayway Boutique travel to do the planning so we can just sit back and enjoy the fruits of their labor. To travel in Europe, you need a passport. To travel in Europe well, you need a passport and JayWay. We learned of JayWay from our daughter, who has used it a half-dozen times. JayWay knows the best 3,4, & 5 star hotels in the area. Those small gems that are opulent, comfortable, yet very friendly, and perfectly located. JayWay's excursions and tours were well researched, guided by knowledgeable locals, who are gifted educators as well as experts in their area. Not surprisingly these locals guides also knew the best places to eat and places to avoid.

The best part of JayWay is that they make it your way. You pick the dates, the cities, then the excursions from the long list of options, and they do the rest. You can discuss which option would be best for you. You can pack your day full of activites, or sleep in, leave time for strolls, or even free days. You can leave free time and personally schedule excursions not on their list.

JayWay ensures your transitions from airport/train station to hotel, hotel to airport/train station. A driver meets with either a sign with your name on it, or in your hotel lobby. Knowing you won't have to worry about how to get to your hotel when your plan lands, are jet-lagged, and don't speak the language is godsend.

JayWay will have a local host, who lives in the area, will review your itinerary, and contact you to ensure all details are addresses. Your host meets briefly with you early in the trip, and ensures you have your tickets, passes, etc. They give you their phone number so you can contact them if any questions or problems arise. A contracted hotel charged us tax, when it was included, and our local contact got us the refund. The hotel apologized. She texted instructions on how to use the subway to get to our destination. When our flight home was delayed by two hours, our local contact had rescheduled our transport to the airport so we could sleep in, before we knew the plan was rescheduled. She was our guardian angel.

We met a couple, also staying at our hotel, who had been to Europe twenty sone times, the last six or so, they used JayWay. They also sang their praises.

My take is you can travel in Europe with a planned tour, on their schedule, spend hours on Google trying to find the best hotels and guides and hope the reviews were accurate, or you can use JayWay. The next time we're going to travel in Europe, we will be...
