Peaceful, pleasant park with a decent sized pond that you can walk about 3/4ths of the way around. There is also a dog park, split in two for small or large dogs, access to the Wallkill River, a horse show grounds, playgrounds, tennis courts, a toboggan hill, access to the golf course, an arboretum, catch and release fishing, and if you are walking you can go by a Standardbred breeding farm. We love to walk our small dog here because there are so many different places to go, we can do something different every time if we desire. There are large, mown grassy areas where we can put him on a long line and let him chase balls. Dogs are required to be leashed unless in the dog park, but we see people cheating at this quite often. We've also done bird watching here during migration. Currently there are a lot of Canada Geese flying in and out. I have to say that around sunset this place just exudes peacefulness even with people strolling around as couples or with their dogs. Don't want to forget to mention that there are picnic tables...
Read moreThis park is incredibly huge and allows for a variety of activities. This review is for the boathouse. We rented the boathouse for a milestone birthday party. It offered a full kitchen and five round tables with chairs for our event. The air conditioning helped relieve our guests, young and old, from the humidity that day. There was a convenient private entry to the connected public restrooms. The boathouse was unlocked and available for us to set up early. Unfortunately, there was a fly problem upon entering which took away from the comfort of being indoors. The boathouse is right at the edge of a fenced in pond and there’s plenty of grass around for outdoor yard games or lounging under the sun or in the shade. There is driveway access for handicap patrons. A couple hundred of feet away there is an outdoor grill, available only if the pavilion is not reserved. Would recommend renting this facility...
Read moreThomas Bull Memorial park is lovely. The main park (down the road with the horses) has 3 different playgrounds, for different age recommendations. A baseball diamond is nearby, as well as restrooms. The park for the smallest children is close to a wooded area, which worried me a bit, due to possible ticks or wildlife hiding in the brush. Otherwise, lovely park. Sally's Dream is another part of the park further along the main road (past the golf course entrance). It is small, but had a short zip-line like piece, some slides and different climbing parts. There are also plenty of picnic benches, under trees or under a gazebo. There is a short paved walkway around 3/4 of the park that kids can ride scooters on. We like this...
