Aside from the entitled Point Lookout residents who looked upon my family with disdain as we exited our parked car (and they uttered "Ugh, why are they opening the gates and letting people park here?" Loud enough do I could here) .... It was a mostly special place. There are several locations in the playground where I located poison ivy (on the south East fence line.) The swings are nice,lovely monkey bars, rock climbing walls and boulders. A fun seasaw. Really one of my favorite current playgrounds for my son. Great scenic views of Jones Inlet. Read moreThis is a five stars place but I gave only one start to highlight the parking issue. I am a tourist from San Francisco. I realized the township and locals don’t want outsiders to enjoy this public place. This way it remains private to them—IS THIS LEGAL?? Some beach lovers should investigate if this strategy of locals and township to keep outsides out is ethical.
The park was locked at noon on Tuesday, even they have many parking spots inside. Some 10 blocks surroundings had no parking signs, even roads are wide open to have car parked.
