Excellent service and food quality with one exception, they unjustifiably added an $8 shared plate fee to our bill without any prior notice. We ordered 2 appetizers (Crab Cake at $20 and Beet Salad at $16), one beer ($8), and a Fisherman's Catch (Signature Dish of linguini and mixed seafood at $48). Our total bill was $108 including tax and the $8 snuck in plate sharing fee. The two of us shared all three dishes during the quick dinner. It was around 740 pm on a rainy Thursday evening when we arrived at the restaurant which was relatively full (Covid 19 seating protocols). The restaurant began to thin out since it had just started raining upon our arrival. The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor seating area and magnificent views that you're clearly paying for in the price. But, we didn't have those experiences on a rainy Thursday evening and we felt as though the plate sharing charge while inexpensive; but trivial and insulting on an otherwise $100 bill. Particularly when the entire circumstances were taken into account. I live locally and I've been to the Fisherman's Catch several times over the past decade. I'll give it another shot one day since the rest of the experience was pleasant.

As a restaurant reviewer with forty-four million views on all of my platforms, I don't like leaving less than four stars but I was completely underwhelmed. Ordering was a strange process. Customers place their order and it is brought out by a server. Our server, Amanda, was the only bright spot as she was very professional and personable. The shrimp tacos contained three shrimp and the lobster rolls and cole slaw were very dry. For better prices and service, you can find much better local options or head to Freeport. Ordering drinks was time consuming and cumbersome. I spent thirty minutes online and away from my dining partners. My dining companion requested that her tacos not contain a certain item because of a very severe allergy. I brought it to a young man (tall, wearing his cap backwards) who was behind the register. I explained the allergy and he responded "And...?" Then he rolled his eyes to a customer. Do I have to really explain a food allergy to someone working in the food business? He's the primary reason we won't return. With so many other seafood options, let this be your second or third choice.

Point Lookout may be a quaint small town, but when it comes to dining choices, it is big on flavor and variety. Today we were at The Clam Bar, located right on the water, offering outdoor dining guests incredible sunset views! The food is beachy casual served on paper plates. You order at the walk-up window, and it arrives tableside without much delay. They offer a good variety of fresh fish and preparations ~grilled, fried, and sauteed for yummy crab cakes. Our meals were all flavorful, juicy, and accompanied by sides of coleslaw, rice, or with fries. This is no-frills waterside dining. You are paying for the location. Their baked clams are a nice size and the right mix of chopped clams, pepper, onion, and crumbs. The added big outdoor bar is making this spot even more attractive. They also have a delicious lobster bisque soup that took the early spring chilled breeze right out. Heaters are in place and clear protective panels, offering you comfort while not compromising the panoramic view. Come on down right now as I bet in the summertime here, there will be a much longer wait! Worth it, but longer.

Awful, awful service, with overpriced seafood. The location is cool... right by the docks, so I sort of get the mark up. But what got me was the terrible service. Ordering station was lukewarm. Zero hospitality, no smiles from the cashier. Menu wasn't offered to us when we got there--they only had folded take out menus on the side, which were easy to miss and weren't pointed out to us immediately. However, despited the deadpan reception, the cashier still managed to say 'hello,' 'thank you' and 'have a nice day,' which is appreciated. What really got me was the dockside bar. The bar had zero customer service. After getting food, my brother and I came up to the bar to get drinks. We waited a minute for anyone to come up to us despite the bar being practically empty. A female 'bartender' finally came up and asked us for our orders. However, in the middle of us ordering, this woman walks away (who does that?). She just proceeds with trying to grab stuff to make drinks despite us not deciding on our order yet. She doesn't apologize for rudely walking away mid-order. The drinks came from a pre-mix carton and tasted like juice, but were priced like they were Manhattan craft cocktails. Then after I pay this 'bartender' in cash, she immediately walks away while I was trying to offer my tip. She walked away for someone asking for water and never came back despite me staying by the bar waiting for her. At this point, I probably should have forgetten about tipping this rude woman, but I didn't and waited. She actively ignored. I even tried calling her to get my tip. I ended up giving it to the other person at the bar. I felt very embarassed by this because it seemed like I was paying this awful woman to be rude to me. Honestly, I should've just walked away. She seemed to have been appalled at my very presence at the bar and couldn't wait to be done with me. The only saving grace was the food runner who was very courteous and polite. I'm not sure if most of the staff here are just not used to serving people of color (we one of only two tables that were not white), but either way, this is horrible considering how much we spent at this establishment. Your view can only make up for so much. Do better, Point...

Where do I begin, deceptive, less than adequate, and definitely not edible! We were visiting from another state and hoped to end our evening with a nice meal. The menu advertised online was no longer being served for whatever reason. THE TAKE IT OFF YOUR WEBSITE !!!!!! Hence, I started with deceptive. We drove to this location expecting to eat at a “restaurant,” we would have better off getting a fish sandwich at Burger King. To start it was set up like a cafeteria, you paid for the food upfront, ordered it the bar and then waited for the food to come to your numbered table. The trifold paper menu was as descriptive as one you would see as a fish-n-ships shack. We were hungry so we ordered. BIG MISTAKE!!!! We paid nearly 100.00 for fast food on paper plates with plastic utensils. We ordered 2 entrees and one appetizer, no drinks or alcohol and paid $96.00. I ordered the muscles appetizer and it came in an aluminum to-go container and supermarket garlic bread that was over toasted. The muscles were so salty they were not edible. My friend ordered a tuna steak that was horribly overcooked and unseasoned. It was like they threw a piece of tuna on the grill right out of a frozen package and forgot it there, it basically looked like an overcooked pork chop. My daughter ordered fish tacos which were dry and very spicy. The only edible thing on the plate was the French fries. I let the waitress know the muscles were extremely salty and she apologized, but did not offer a replacement. The owner was there and failed to acknowledge the dissatisfaction. We asked for mayonnaise and was offered one small condiment packet for three people and mounds of fries). HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. HE’S SMART TO TAKE YOUR MONEY UPFRONT, because had those plates arrived at the table prior to payment I most likely would have walked out. After eating a few of the fries we simply left. FIND SOMEPLACE...

We have been there before. Great experience prior. Come for my mother’s 60th birthday. 3:30 reservation. No record of it but the place is empty we get a table right away. Ok.

Waited 20 min for service. Free calamari for the table. Fine.

Order a bottle of champagne to celebrate. No glasses. Have to go to the bar to get glasses no help in sight. They comp the bottle. I’m pretty mad at this point.

Order apps. Clams on the half shell are chowder clams. The rest is fine.

We order dinner and wait 45 min- hour. They apologize and tell us the prime rib takes along time to cook. After an hour it comes out raw send it back. Sisters pasta dish is inedible. The rest was ok at best.

We finish dinner and after 15 minutes the table hasn’t been cleared. That was it for me. Complain to the manager who had tried his best to make it right with the Calamari and champagne. He had already stated two waiters had called in sick and was apologetic. Regardless we were all fed up.

“Please clear the table. Serve the cake we brought so we can get the hell out of there.”

30 seconds later the cake comes without the table being cleared. 🤦‍♂️. The waiter drops the cake and doesn’t come back to cut and serve. Or ask for coffee.

When the cake and coffee does come 10 minutes later the coffee is dirty water.

I don’t write reviews. I don’t have time for them. But never in my life have I had a worse experience at a restaurant. I don’t blame the kids that were the waiters. They clearly weren’t trained as they should have been.

No further concession was made with the bill.

My family and I will never return to this restaurant. I will tell others this story. I’ve had better experiences at this restaurant myself. Maybe this was just our lucky day. But this was the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever...
