The Salvation Army Thrift Store & Donation Center — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

The response received has nothing to do with the issue I posted about. I understand that there are policies that have to be implemented. The manager was going against the policy. If he hadn’t then I would have the item I was willing to purchase. He told me to come back July 4th and get the item half price. He told me that he would hold it for me. Not only did he not hold it for me, he said he told me he was holding it for 4 other people. This game that he plays is not a proper way to conduct business, it turns people against one another. In my case not only didn’t I get what I went back for but the person that did was there at the same time. Again, this person Raymond should not be manager or have any contact with the public. This place is off my list.

Will never go back there. My wife and I were there this past Wednesday 7/2. When looking around I noticed a guitar in the back and inquired about it. I was told that it hadn’t been priced yet. I asked if they could price it for me since I was not able to come back just having hand surgery. The manager Raymond priced It for me. I was ready to purchase it when he said I should come back Friday 7/4 and it would be half price. Being that I was quite a distance away and in some pain I told him I would be happy to pay more than half price. He told me he couldn’t do that but he would hold it until Friday but I would have to get there at opening. He said he would hold this and another item for me. I was there before opening and when I was let in I was told someone else took it because they came in the back door. This so called manager, Raymond has no word and is deceitful to customers. He should not be in charge of any business or deal with the public. I traveled quite a distance to get there when he told me only to see what a deceitful liar he is. I had a very unprofessional experience with the manger at this location the person has long black hair she is the only manager that insists you leave your bag and the only person that continues to watch you as you shop. I am a working parent I have A job in the legal field and I have no interest in committing a crime I carry a reusable shopping bag one for when I buy for my family Salvation Army please train your managers to work in a mannerly matter all other employees are always friendly, welcoming and smiling ready to help and answer...

The location is good for those in Queens and Nassau County and the proximity to Belmont means it has good access to highways, the parking lot also helps since many of their locations in the city only have street parking as an option, one thing I would recommend is to put up signs on the door coming in from the parking lot with some basic instructions on how to donate and where to drop off certain items, it was a bit confusing the...
