Very nice facility with strong amenities. This park has the potential to be a 5 - Star park...but there are a few too many foolish and unfair policies that lessen the overall effect of everything this park can and should be. 1 - if you are having a picnic and want to rent out an area...you MUST use the county's ONLY pre-approved caterer. You van not bring in your own food. The ratings for the vendor are poor and you should be able to bring in whatever food you want if you are renting the space. (When there is only one game in town, I suspect kickbacks). 2 - Unless you are already a member, the folks at the marina do not want you around. Once someone has it, the slots are permanent. You are "gradfathered" in from year to year. That means that some people will never get the chance to have a slot. There is a lottery every year, but good luck with that. 3 - The pool is nice in-season, but the loud blaring announcements are constant, startling and intrusive. . The dog park and playground areas are nice.

This is such a cool pool but the workers are mean racist kids! While there I changed my 10 month old baby on the chair. I laid down a towel and changed him and put the diaper that was only wet from water in a bag to throw it away. kayln campbell came to me telling me i couldn’t change him there and I needed to go to the changing table next time. The changing table they have is disgusting! She also let me know they do not clean their recliner chairs which is gross. one minute after she spoke to me a man of a different race changed his older, walking infant. He had poop everywhere and left the diaper on the floor! No one said anything to him. When i Asked the employee about it she stated she didn’t see him. I doubt that is true because she was sitting right across from us and if she saw me there is no way she didn’t see him. They need to hire nicer employees. They scream at the kids and don’t want them to enjoy themselves.

Beautiful park, super spacious. What it could benefit from is a kinder, more informed staff. The park manager, whose name I did not catch, but “Karen” might’ve fit, was running around telling people to take down their hammocks, remove their dogs ( even though the website says “dogs allowed”) and just being plain rude. It seemed like she was targeting a certain type of people instead of focusing on more serious issues. I was there on July 4th with my family to set up a proposal for my cousin, I’m aware these things can require permits, permission, etc., and it would’ve been our first time there; so naturally, I called the park days in advance. I asked if I was allowed to do what I had planned, and reassured them that we would clean up after ourselves. The lady on the phone said yes, it shouldn’t be a problem. Although, I didn’t catch her name which later seems like it was a crime Ms. Karen’s eyes. When she finally got done policing the families who were quietly having a good time, she came around to me. She started asking if I have a permit, and then would cut me off mid-sentence. Immediately, I knew she was someone who was looking for a problem and was just waiting for me to say the wrong thing so she could cause a scene, I stayed calm & kept repeating to her that her own colleagues have allowed me to do this days in advance, she started saying no, no you can’t no, then would pace back/forth; then would come back and ask more questions (very rudely) and then say “k you have an hour and you can’t start early, only an hour before the couple arrives, etc) then she’d pace some more & finally said “fine fine, just be quick” and left our area for a bit. (Very shortened version of the conversation) Fortunately enough, we were able to do the proposal and make my sister feel special. As we were wrapping up, she had to make an appearance and her first words were again “you need to clean all this up (as I’m actively cleaning) you really need a permit, congrats to whoever”, looks for my sister and proceeds to try to tell her why this wasn’t okay, and when she couldn’t grab her attention, she walked away. While I completely understand the requirement of a permit and would’ve been in the process of one had someone told me this, when I tried to ask if she could allow me permission or permit in the moment, she would sarcastically laugh and be like no no you can’t, instead of offering solutions, she was just being very rude. Previously, when I told her we’d leave (as we had a back up location) if it really wasn’t possible, but I additionally asked whether they’d help us bring our decor back to our car (they had mini pick up / golf cart like vehicles) she says “haha no why would I do that? I’m not doing that.” I’m sorry, I thought you were the park manager, regardless of my personal situation, is this the type of person people will find when they need help at the park? Have questions/concerns? General customer service? Your job is to protect the park, and the people in it, not adjust it to your personal preference. Just a thought. Anyway, in conclusion. Great park, beautiful place, definitely would chill there again on a calmer day, and I appreciate I was able to execute our plan. Just a mini tale from an otherwise...

Wantagh Park and Marina is such a very seren place to visit. I love when my friend picks me up at the nursing home and drives me there. I watch the boats coming in and going out of the marina. It's so tranquil and serene. I also like watching the children coming down the big water slides. When we had that hurricane a few years ago, it destroyed the boating club building, so they rebuild a new building that no longer accompany the boating club house whitch also gave access to bathrooms. It's not their anymore, but it's ok as there are restrooms near by. Now they have overhangs that cover over tables, that protect you from the sun. You get such beautiful breezes. It is so nice of my friend to pick me up over in UNIONDALE and takes a trip to Wantagh Park so that I can get away from the nursing home for awhile. Sometimes we go over to Eisenhower Park and sit by the lake and just enjoy the tranquility. Other times my friend will drive over to the Freeport Park by the Natical Mile. That park is a little park but going their, its so quite and there isn't a lot of people. Sometimes my friend will wheel me over to people who are fishing off the pier. Nassau County has a lot of nice parks to go to, that have a lot of tranquil places to enjoy. I grew up on Wantagh Ave in Levittown so I know a lot of places to visit and get lots of peace and trankquility if that's what you are looking for and even have lots of places that offer a lot of fun activities. So just take a park that suits your needs or wants and know its out their. If you have a Nassau Park pass, you will be able to find a park that will suit your desire. Make an entire day of outings, you can barbeque and spend it with family and friends. I feel so lucky to be living in a community where you just decide what you are looking for and I just know you can pick a park that offer things you are interested in, and get into a car and you can be whatever you want. Another great thing about being a Levittown resident, is Mr Levitt when he built up Levittown, he also made for Levttown Homeowners, 9 pools that you can enjoy every summer time for free, but you must be a Levitt home owner. You can bring into the pool any guests and there is no fee. He built 9 Olympic size pools.when it's pool season, just bring your most recent telephone, water, oil bill, write down the names of your family members and just like that, a key chain is given to you to use. Mr Levitt also stated the pools will always be free as long as you live in a Levitt Home and any guest that is visiting you can also have free access. Just be sure they are wearing the pool tag. They don't question you. Thank you so much Mr Levitt for building these beautiful, well maintained pools for the LEVITTOWN HOME OWNERS ONLY. You gave us such nice pools and parks to play at. Thank you Nassau County for providing so many beautiful parks for Nassau...
