Michie Stadium is one of the best college football stadium's in the US! Here is an experience like no other. The setting for the stadium is the beautiful and historic West Point campus. On a nice day you can see many of the buildings on the campus, and the surrounding Hudson Highlands. The stadium is home to the Army Black Knights. Currently, the stadium is undergoing renovations, but it doesn't take much away from the viewing experience. Most games start with a paratrooper delivering the game ball to the referee at center field. If the weather is not right for that a helicopter flyover is still a part of the game experience. It also easy to spot the Army Cadets inside the stadium in uniform, as most come to the games. When Army scores be ready for some cannon booms from the lake behind the stadium. Most of the seats in the stadium are metal bleachers. Sightlines to the field are very good. There are concession stands in the stadiums and they serve the standard football game food staples. For a stadium prices are fair. Lines to some of the concession stands can be long during the game. The fan experience here is very good. You will not see too many rowdy fans. Instead, there is a nice laid back experience for most in the crowd. Pregame tailgating is popular here. The cadets do take the field before the game and line in up in formation. No other place delivers on as much history and pageantry as West Point. Be sure to get your tickets online. Do to renovations there are a few less seats than usual this year. Michie Stadium delivers a great and memorable...

Stadium was beautiful - great view of the river. However, while I pray the Army is really good at the things we need them to do, running an event like a lax game is not their forte... We were walking up to the stadium as they were playing the national anthem, and proceeded to go right to the ticket window to buy tickets (not a sold out event.) there were maybe 10 parties in front of us, and it took so long to sell everyone their tickets, that the first quarter ended by the time we got into the stadium.... Then, we proceeded to spend the ENTIRE 2nd and 3rd quarters AND halftime, in line for the concessions... (If it was just me, I wouldn't have bothered, but it was a noon game, we couldn't bring outside food in, and my 3.5 year old needed to eat.) Thankfully, they had a hotdog, but they'd basically run out of most everything else. Also a good thing that it wasn't 85, because it would have taken most of the game just to get a water....

The stadium was beautiful, and it was really cool to see all of the Army personnel there in uniform. Everyone was very cordial and respectful - even to the visiting fans. My only advice, is don't assume that you will be able to access the concession stands, and make sure you get your tickets in advance online, even if it's the morning of. If they aren't going to allow outside food and beverage, that's totally fine, but it would be great if we could reasonably expect to buy at their...

I have always wanted to visit the Army Service Academy at West Point because I have heard it said that Michie Stadium was one of the greatest places to watch a football game. However, when I attended the Army/UAB game on 10/12/24 I have to admit that I was somewhat disappointed. Now the traditions are great and cadets in their white uniform tops and white caps filling the seats of one end zone were very impressive. However, despite several renovations, the stadium which was originally constructed in 1924 is definitely showing its age.

For visiting fans it is difficult to find decent parking. And while busses are available to transport people to the stadium, Once parked It is still a hike over hilly terrain to get to the bus loading zones. Once you arrive at the stadium proper, there are only two entrances available and there are two extremely long line to get in. The process is further slowed because each individual entering the stadium has to be checked with a wand to detect banned metal objects. Once in the stadium the areas under the seating areas very narrow and crowded. They’re few concession stands. At half time and before and after the game the area is packed with people standing in line to buy concessions and making their way to the restrooms, and that makes extremely difficult to...

All good things must come to an end. Michie Stadium, once home to one of the legendary views in all of sports has inexplicably given in to capitalism, and blocked off the view of the Hudson River. Across from the bleachers The Military Academy is building another set of stands. While the construction isn't complete, it looks like this will be nothing but luxury boxes and suites, ensuring that the wealthiest donors and most connected politicians see the beautiful Hudson. Meanwhile, the parents of the cadets, who will one day, defend our nation, can stand in 10 minute lines for limited concessions and a view of suited corporate fat cats, pressing the flesh for a new defense contract. The joy is supposed to be in the pageantry of the USMA. However, interminable lines for tickets and concessions limit your enjoyment, as you are guaranteed to miss a significant portion of the game. There is a Fenway quality to Michie- the architectural quirks are part of its charm. But a creative mind could do a lot to enhance its charm. Regrettably, no one creative seems to be on staff, and they are simply building the appalling monstrosity on the visitors side.
