White Winter Wineryâs mead smells and taste like the hooch I made in a carboy when I was 19 and threw in a dark closet for 2 weeks. My best comparison is stale wine. Dansk Mjød, Skalkaho...both great makers of mead, and Iâve found more brands just as good. But I recently purchased two bottles of White Winter and theyâre really disappointing. They probably thought of an idea and rushed into it. It may technically be mead, but it doesnât taste like mead. Although I have no knowledge of their other products, I wouldnât recommend White Winter Wineryâs mead. Growing up in a Scandinavian family, mead is just as popular as Linie, and my grandmother wasnât very happy when she tried White Winter Wineryâs mead. I hadnât tried it either but I brought it to a dinner. I feel really bad...
Read more5 Stars for the service and the education behind what they are doing. We had the place to ourselves on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The location and layout are fantastic.
2 Stars for the Mead and name. I think you are doing a dis-service to clients by having Winery in your businesses name. We were caught completely off guard as to what we were getting into but we tried out samples anyways. Wine is made with grapes, Mead is made with fermented honey.
I don't want to say anything about the mead at all because I have no knowledge about it and very little prior experience in tasting it. The spirits we had were very strong and tasted like rubbing alcohol with a little bit of flavor...
Read moreIt was so fun to find this on our way home from Ashland, Wi. Itâs such a treat to taste local products! Please visit this neat cozy place! I didnât get to snap much photos but they do have all kinds of Mead drinks & ciders. The couple John and Kim (Hamilton?) has been running and making these local drinks for the past 28 years! We support local đŻ and they deserve to be recognized more. They are lovely and kind people which makes it an impressive impression, surely!
There are toys for kids to get busy with too! But the real deal is the challenge they give to kids with cup & ball, not sure about the name of the game but if you visit youâll know!
Cheers to more Wisconsin place...
