The server accused me of being racist. There was a man without a backpack who didn't know how to get back to a campout called the Rainbow Gathering whom she was soliciting a ride for. He was either going to "the cities" or "back to the gathering". I flew here and dont have wheels so I said no, then she asked the man who I'm with (also flew, also no). I've been at camp for over a week and hadn't seen this man. Travelers usually have a back pack or luggage. He didn't know where to go to get a ride...If you've been into the gathering you know how to get back. Something about the situation didn't seem right. Not the color of his skin. I said to my partner that the situation was weirding me out and this "waitress" who never greeted us or offered a menu had the audacity to say "white people would say that" to me. I was shocked she'd comment on my conversation with my partner and even more so that she assumed my feelings had anything to do with race. I left without food or bowling like we had planned.
She should have greeted us, explained seating, offered us drinks and a menu and certainly not have tried to solicit rides for another customer or accused me of being racist.
