Como Lake Park in Lancaster, NY is a natural oasis for chill enthusiasts. Nestled in the heart of suburbia, this park offers a wide range of trees to hug for visitors of all ages.
You need to look for the entries to nature trails, its east to miss them. I added an image with the entries. These are "natural" trails so they may be overgrown at times. Do not fear the diverse flora and fauna, they are your friends.
I enjoy rowing and floating around in my inflatable fishing boat/raft. There is no "formal" place to put canoes or kayaks in the water but there are plenty of muddy easy access points. The creek forks into 3 different paths providing a picturesque setting for a leisurely floating nap. The water is crystal brown and the surrounding woods provide a stunning backdrop. Its quiet and peaceful. Bring a casual drink or a joint if that's your style.
Como Lake Park is a great option for anyone looking to escape the grind and lay low for a bit, connect with nature and hug a tree or two.
Tip: Anglers, go just below the dam at Como Park Lake. Downstream, left on Broadway, left on park, look for Gar Gavin Trail sign. Rainbow/steelhead...

The trails here haven't been groomed yet, but that's okay. I'm half making my own, half following the tracks of other skiers who were here earlier. The sun is glinting on the snow. There are people with their kids over on the sledding hill, but nobody's around on this side of the park, where I am. I'm just gliding over the snow, listening to the birds. Peaceful. Beautiful. Nature. Perfection.
Como Lake Park is a great place to bring your family, or visit alone, any time of the year. Plenty of picnic shelters, playgrounds, disc golf, the animals and, of course, the scenery. But to me, it's especially beautiful this...
