This is a great park for a stroll. It's a historic site on the Canalway. It's also particularly interesting because this is not only an operating lock but is one of the spillway stations that is used to drain or fill the canal seasonally and to control the level throughout the usage season. You can cross the canal on a footbridge and there are East & West properties on the North and South sides of the canal so that you can tour all four corners of the park. A guy watched me and was about to follow me when he saw my husband. Then he waited in his car until we finished walking around and got in our car and he left. It has the restrooms, two or three pavilions for groups with BBQ grills situated on the Erie canal near one of the Erie canal boat locks. If you want to you can look at boats going through while your fishing. There is a bridge of historical interest in the park.
