Wow, a paint company that knows how to ship paint. If that sounds like a tongue in cheek comment, it is, and let me explain. I live in California and our local Annie Sloan retailer closed a couple years ago so have resorted to mail order. My first experience was buying a couple Liters off of ebay. They were mailed in the flimsy flate rate boxes and came BADLY dented. I was a little bummed but happy they were still usable - that is until I opened them up and they were found to have at one time frozen, separated and hardened - so completely unusable. My next experience was from an AS retailer also arriving in a flimsy airmail flat rate box containing no reinforcement. Of the 5 Liters crammed in, 4 exploded and oozed out of the box. Although the colors were quite pretty blended, my local mail carrier was less than pleased. My next 2 orders came from 2 different well advertised AS stockists. Both were shipped via airmail and another round of badly dented cans were received. Some denting in all shipments is understandable even when care is taken to package, but it was clear no thought went into these packages. These AS stockists provided very low flat rate shipping. However, they cut corners by providing no due regard to careful packaging and shipping via USPS air (priority). Although this does cut shipping costs for them, USPS restricts paint shipments to Ground only. I am not the usps police and I wouldn't mind so much if they disregard USPS rules IF they took some precautions like reinforcing the cans and box with stiff cardboard and used adequate filler but they often don't and should know better. So I decided to try ordering from TPPL. My order from TPPL was a success! The Purple Painted Lady (TPPL) has been a favorite go to of mine for instructional videos. They are upbeat, inspiring and informational. Struggling with painting spindles on chairs? They have a video for that. Want to know how to perfect painting cabinetry, they made a video for that, etc.. Their website has the valuable Paint Mixer which I have used many times. Although their shipping was a little higher than others, I finally placed a large order with them and happy I did. ( an aside - I have sold 1000+ items on the internet so I am fully aware of shipping costs. I know that TPPL and others are likely losing money on shipping, despite commercial discounts, thus what they are charging is more than fair). I finally made the right choice of AS stockist. When the GROUND shipment came on a hot summer day, I opened it up. There was a warning on top f4om them stating to let the paint sit at room temp for 24 hours prior to opening. Good to know. I was thrilled to see 7 Liters in the reinforced box, each painstakingly wrapped with bubble wrap and separated with cardboard and stuffed on all sides with environmentally friendly peanuts. It was a relief to see the paint professionally packaged. TPPL is THE real deal. They are AS experts like no other. They are now my #1 go to stockist that I will...

There was no point in time in which Aimee stated that you do not do consignments outside of your festival artists, as you were not present in the initial visit so there may be a miscommunication on your part. As for both visits, you stated that I should call within the next two weeks and you did not tell me to make an appointment. When I called, no one picked up the phone and I came for a second visit and had a discussion with you.
Aimee also assured me that you would be notified, however due to your question of a business card that was attached to the product and based on our discussion, it was clear the product was not looked at. Thank you for your response and have a good day.
Don't do consignment here! If you want people who are willing to do business with you, this is not the place. They will leave your products next to their desk and make you wait for weeks before you call to ask about any updates. They make you CALL, WAIT, and CONTACT THEM. I was assured by one of the staff that the manager would be notified - and they did not look at the business products. After weeks of no contact, the manager asked about my business card when it was taped ON THE ACTUAL PRODUCT right next to her... The staff member was open at first but then weeks later will go and say, "We don't have any more room for your stuff."
Sad to see this business wasting other people's time when it runs on local products. Lots of fakeness here with the staff, their tone was patronizing toward my brand (Sweetie, "That's not how I would do it.") Cannot recommend this shop for locals...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe purple painted lady is a must stop location in Rochester for craft lovers and latte lovers alike! Inside of this paint and furniture refinishing store is a cute little coffee shop run by staff inside of the purple painted lady! I was lucky enough to talk to the owner, Trish, who has built this place from the bottom up! I ordered a Maple Brown Sugar Latte and it was so good! My mom was able to go with me this time and ordered the Honey Lavender latte. She said she would order it again and loved it. Unlike me, my mother likes fruitier drinks. I on the other hand love sweeter drinks and my maple brown sugar latte lived up to that hype! While I was here, I picked up a cute souvenir from Rochester for my boyfriend and picked up some pumpkin butter for me! I also picked up some paint for a chair Iām repainting for our house and canāt wait to use more chalk paint in the future (itās my favorite to paint with). The prices arenāt awful as well! For a sampler can of lavender chalk paint, pumpkin butter, a sticker, two lattes, and a cute sign for mine and my boyfriendās house I spent around $35-$40 for everything. This year, Iām also excited to return to Rochester to hit up the Purple Painted Lady festival in September! (9/20/25-9/21/25). The charity they are sponsoring this year is the EYS - Embrace your Sisters foundation that supports Breast Cancer. I canāt wait to come back for this festival because the foundation is so near and dear to my heart as my mother and grandmother are both survivors of breast cancer. Iām definitely returning before I leave for Boston to get...
